Song and Trailer Sanjay Dutt And Bipasha Basu: Director Rahul Dholakia's action movie Lamhaa talks about corruption in Kashmir that benefits politicians and the military alike.
The movie stars Sanjay Dutt and Bipasha Basu, as well as Anupam Kher and Rang De Basanti actor Kunal Kapoor in supporting roles. Sanjay plays Vikram, Bipasha portrays Aziza, Anupam Kher plays Haji and Kunal Kapoor portrays Aatif.
The social thriller tells the story of intelligence officer Vikram who finds out about a planned corruption plot and is sent to investigate it. Around the same time separatist leader Haji survives a bomb attack and Vikram thinks the two events might be related.
He gets help from Haji's coworker Aziza and together the two embark upon a journey to find the truth. And along the way, as is often the case, they encounter corruption and violence, but Vikram's and Aziza's goal is to turn things around in this troubled region.
The buzz is that Kareena Kapoor's sister, Karisma Kapoor, was first considered for the role but she chose not to do the movie as she was uncomfortable filming in Kashmir. So brave Bips took over and the former model has really dived into the project with her head first!
The actress is currently dubbing her role in Lamhaa in which she plays a Kashmiri girl, so of course she needs to drop her English accent! "It is really tough because I don't really understand Urdu. But I'm never one to shun the urge to learn.
I think it's great fun. And my director, Rahul Dholakia, is very patient and chilled out," Bips told Hindustan Times. We're sure fans will enjoy Bips's hard work! But even Bipasha got scared once and flew back to Mumbai only to get back on the set when the director threatened to cast Vidya Balan as her replacement!
The movie hits theaters on July 16, are you looking forward to seeing it? Check out "Madhno Re" and share your thoughts.
