Yana Gupta to plan to cut a Music Album: There is more to Yana Gupta than has met our eyes so far. No pun intended, but the lady’s now raring to show the world her other talents.
And what these talents are?...you ask. Then let’s update you that besides being a terrific dancer, Yana is also into singing, playing the guitar and the flute.
So now, Yana is possessed with the thought of cutting a music album.
The buzz is that she’s already in talks with a UK-based company for the album.
But before that Yana is set to return to Jhalak Dikhlaa Jaa 4 as the wild card entry and hopes to perform better than she did before her elimination from the dance show. Not just that, she’s also shot an item song for an upcoming Bollywood film. If anything was left, Yana says she’s also eyeing a transition from being an item girl to an actress.
Looks like Yana is bent on milking the publicity she’s got from the panty-less stunt.

Patiala House Music Review: The entertaining tracks
Patiala House Music Review: The entertaining tracks: “Patiala House”; Music Directors: Shankar Mahadevan-Ehsaan Noorani-Loy Mendonsa; Lyricist: Anvita Dutt Guptan; Singers: Mahalakshmi Iyer, Hard Kaur, Shafqat Amanat Ali, Shankar, Earl, Master Saleem, Vishal Dadlani, Suraj Jagan, Alyssa Mendonsa, Hans Raj Hans and Richa Sharma; Rating: ** 1/2″Patiala House”, Akshay Kumar’s first outing of 2011, has music that is not something uncommon, yet most of the songs are entertaining and bring out the signature style of composer trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy.
The album offers 12 songs, including remixes.
“Patiala House” music commences with “Laung da lashkara” with Mahalaxmi Iyer, Hard Kaur and pop singer Jassi - who has made an appearance after a long time - singing it. This is the title track and quite apt for a film that is named “Patiala House”. Full of Punjabi energy and flavour, the song includes a few rap lines as well.
There is a remix version of the number in the album.
After the first song, the album takes a turn and comes up with poignant track “Kya main jagoon” crooned by Shafqat Amanat Ali. It has a long prelude before the vocals begin, but then it is evident that full focus is on the vocals and music becomes secondary. The song changes pace quickly, which is very interesting and cuts the monotony. Shafqat’s voice is praiseworthy and adds weightage to the song. on the whole a beautiful number that strikes a chord with the listener.
It has two more versions - a regular remix and an unplugged version where the tone of vocals is slightly low. These are equally likeable.
Then comes in “Rola pe gaya” that has Mahalaxmi, Shankar, Earl, Master Saleem and Hard Kaur behind the mike. In spite of so many singers, the song fails to make a mark. Initially, it entertains a little bit, but soon the listener loses interest in the not-so-fresh composition. Even the lyrics don’t impress.
The remix version has nothing great to offer either.
Next song “Aadat hai voh” brings in some respite. Sung by Vishal Dadlani, it has a pleasing guitar strumming in the beginning that sets the mood. Then the rise in the tempo with strong orchestration gives the song an edge. It’s a nice, moderate-paced track that grows on you.
“Baby when you talk to me” is the only pure love song in the album, sung by Suraj Jagan and Alyssa Mendonsa. With Hindi and English lyrics, the foot-tapping song is hummable and engaging but you do get a feeling of dejà vu as the composition doesn’t sound too fresh.
This one too has a remixed version.
The next track “Tumba Tumba” is a qawali by Hans Raj Hans and may appeal to those who love qawallis, although the song seems to be more of a situational number.
In the end a Sufi song enters the album. “Aval allah” is also a situational track and might be effective on screen. Sung by Richa Sharma with minimal music, the song does have its high moments.
On the whole, the music of the album is neither bad nor brilliant. Some songs are entertaining and some need more punch. It’s time for Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy to reinvent themselves.

Shahrukh Khan to attend Sunburn Event at Goa: Sunburn organizers have kept under veil Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's presence for the three-day annual event at Goa's Candolim beach, scheduled to begin on December 27.
Emerging out of a meeting with the Chief Minister Digambar Kamat, Party organizer Harinder Singh told reporters on Thursday that they have not prepared exclusive guests list as the party is open for all ticket-holders.
"We have not prepared any guest list for the event as anyone can buy a ticket and enter the party venue. I don't know whether Shar Rukh Khan will come for the festival," he said.
Singh expressed oblivious when asked whether they have 'send an invite' to King Khan to participate in the much-hyped electronic music party. "I don't know...people buy VVIP, VVIP tickets and there are some guests from the sponsors," was his pat reply.
The organizers meanwhile had a meeting with the chief minister to inform about the procedural delays to approve their proposal seeking permission to host the festival. The event expects a crowd of more than 40,000 people from across the globe.
While the Bollywood celebs have planned for their holiday season, SRK along with his wife Gauri Khan and children are planning their head way to Goa. Sources revealed that the Khan family is expected to let their hair down at the Sunburn festival with their friends.

Anjaana Anjaani Movie - The Music Review, Ranbir Priyanka's New Film
Anjaana Anjaani Movie - The Music Review, Ranbir Priyanka's New Film: How can a love story not be musical in Bollywood? Our romantic films could be labelled shallow if song-less. Anjaana Anjaani director Siddharth Anand has a hit track record with the musical album of his films and this time too he has put a lot of effort on it with the help of the composers Vishal-Shekhar who have also turned lyricists for some of the songs.
The promos of the film look promising, while some of the tracks have already hit the jack pot. Anjaana Anjaani songs are no different from the league, yet they are appealing.
First get to know Anjaana Anjaani through Anjaana Anjaani Ki Kahani, a foot-tapping number that carries a fun element with it, and the beats that can set your pulse racing. The Zara Zara Kiss Me sensuous crooner Monali Thakur is heard after a long time and the gal has again done a terrific job with the singer Nikhil D’Souza for the song. The number also has a distinct 70s disco feel to it. Enjoyable, yeah!
Bollywood hasn’t lost Lucky Ali yet. The singer with his unusual brogue style is back after a hiatus and belts out yet again a Ranbir Kapoor song. There is something elusive in Hairat which fascinates and gets you hooked to it. Naturally, one of the best in the album.
A song like this hits off instantly with the audience. Aas Pas Hai Khuda like other ‘Khuda’ songs will find a place in the playlist and since it is crooned by the one and only Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, there are no doubts about it. Shruti Pathak joins Rahat for the unplugged version of the song and like the original it is also soothing to the ears.
The simple and the sweet Tumse Hi Tumse by Shekhar Ravjiani is a song for all moods. Bring out the guitar and start playing; the tune is catchy.
Here comes the winner Tujhe Bhula Diya which can sweep one off their feet with its quasi folk, quasi pop feel. An amazing track in the voice of Mar Jawaan fame Shruti Pathak, Mohit Chauhan and Shekhar Ravjiani. If one would enjoy Shruti’s exotic lounge rendering in the beginning, Mohit will stir the emotions with the rest, while Shekhar leads the chorus and adds sheer drama to the song. Warning: you might get addicted to this number. The remix version plays with its lounge feel and what you get is a well-created remix.
I Feel Good in the sultry voice of Shilpa Rao and rock singer Vishal Dadlani strictly sticks to the ‘romantic’ theme of the album. The next with the same duo does not break the melodious flow. Anjaana Anjaani is intense and will sound more impressive once it comes alive on screen.
The Bollywood musicals have melodious soulful songs that stay with us year after year and we get back to listen to them whenever we feel like. The romantic songs of Anjaana Anjaani do have that elusive feel to it, especially the songs like Hairat and Tujhe Bhula Diya.

We Are Family Movie - Music Review
We Are Family Movie- Music Review: The trio of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy has come a long way since their Rockford and Dil Chahta Hai days. Their simple yet euphonious melodies just warm the cockles of the heart. Yet again, they are treading the safe path while composing songs for We Are Family, a Karan Johar production that stars Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Kajol in main lead.
The film has five songs for which the composers have teamed with lyricist Irshad Kamil and Anvita Dutt Guptan. The first in the list is Aankhon Mein Neendein which is in the voice of Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Shreya Ghosal. The number is expectedly soothing with its chirpy, romantic lyrics. This is a typical Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy song, but it does have its moments.
Dil Khol Ke, Let’s Rock, the desi version of Elvis’s ‘Jailhouse Rock’, is dull and what makes it boring is undoubtedly its middling lyrics. However, what may click with the audience could be its picturisation. The feisty singers like Anushka Manchanda, Akriti Kakkar and Suraj Jagan deserve a better song than this one.
With Reham-O-Karam, the SEL trio has delivered what’s expected from them. The tune of the songs can perk up anyone’s low spirits. In fact, the next song Hamesha & Forever also takes the same sublime route. The chorus of both the songs sounds a tad similar to the church choir songs, including the musical arrangements.
Sun le dua yeh aasman a slow version of Hamesha & Forever with somber strain can directly affect your tear glands. Then there is We Are Family theme, the last song of the album, which can again send you in the doldrums with its melancholic cadence. Does it also signify the sad ending of the film?
As Karan’s films hardly fail to deliver good songs, We Are Family soundtrack too is not different from the league, but on music scale, the album doesn’t have anything exceptional to offer. The producer has penchant for emotional songs, and the tracks in the album remind of the evergreen sad songs like Tujhe Yad Na Meri Aayi, Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna, Kal Ho Na Ho. But an overdose of melodrama certainly isn’t going to lighten up your mood.
You would like to hear - Reham-O-Karam and Hamesha & Forever.

Dabangg Movie Review - Music Review - Salman Khan Dabangg
Dabangg Movie Review - Music Review - Salman Khan Dabangg: Hud Hud! Here comes desi Robinhood aka Salman Khan with his film Dabangg and its full-on-masti music. The promos are already a hit on the small screen. So what is lined up for the music buffs, or, to say, Sallu fans?
Sajid-Wajid, Salman’s favourite composer duo is back after Veer, creating songs for Dabangg as well. So, plug-in to Dabangg music, which for sure is going to entertain you.
In a typical Sajid-Wajid style, the album begins with Tere Mast Mast Do Nain, a Bollywood romantic number soused in sufi flavour. If Rahat Fateh Ali Khan delivers the song in his usual vigour, Shreya Ghosal’s saccharine voice adds melody to the song. Deadly combo and terrific rendering! However, the remix version of the song fails to make a mark. Rahat again wins hearts with the sad version of the song which is slow and immensely passionate.
Welcome Munni Badnam Hui song and get into the Dabangg rustic mood. The masala track has Malaika Arora’s thumkas, so expect the screen to sizzle. Newcomer Lalit Pandit is the composer of the song and gets Mamta Singh and Aishwarya to sing this raunchy number, and one will definitely enjoy its catchy lyrics, main jhandu bam hui darling tere liye - that’s mind-boggling. Well, the credit goes to lyricist Jalees Sherwani. Alas! the remix version of the song has not much to offer.
The album slips into mushy mood with Chori Kiya Re Jiya. Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghosal team up again to give us a love ballad. But the track falls short of expectations; sadly it is just an average number.
Now comes the true Dabangg song. Hud Hud Dabangg is gritty and valorous in tone and who else than Sukhwinder to sing it. As usual, the crooner has done a brilliant job with this number which makes it one of the must-hear songs in the whole album. So what if it’s a bit similar to the Omkara track.
Hamka Peeni Hai, is another song that promises sharab, shabab and music. The folk based song crooned by Wajid with Master Salim is full on masti which makes it undoubtedly a treat for the Salman maniacs. The remix version is racy and saucy; get ready to have a blast.
The most entertaining of the lot seems to be the Dabangg theme, which is extensively used in the promos. The instrumental song has some of Salman’s dhasu dialogues from the film too. Like a fireball, the theme song enthralls.
Music directors have done full justice to the album and to Salman’s character. The actor’s die-hard fans will surely not be disappointed. The groovy songs bustle with vim and fun.
You would like to hear - Hud Hud Dabangg, Tere Mast Mast Do Nain, Munni Badnaam.

Rajinikant Speech At the Event of Endhiran Music Launch Function
Rajinikanth Speech At the Event of Endhiran Music Launch Function: Once again Rajinikanth, the superstar of Indian cinema, proved his simplicity through his straight forward speech at Endhiran music launch function held in KL, Malaysia.
PICC (putrajaya Internationl Conventional Center), the venue of music launch was jampacked on Saturday and thousands of Rajini fans were eagerly waiting to hear their matinée idol's speech. After the audio launch, Rajinikanth ascended the stage and as expected, the auditorium exploded in applause and one could almost touch the anticipation and excitement that spread through the hall.
Rajini started his speech with the world famous slogan (Thanks to Rahman) 'Ella pugazhum Iravanukke....'
Says Rajini, "There are four important pillars which are crucial role in this film. Shankar, Sun Pictures Kalanidhi Maran, Aishwarya Bachchan and Rathnavelu. This film will create history in the Indian cinema. I'm not saying this just because its a big budget or Shankar-Aishwarya-Kalanidhi Maaran-Rajinikanth combination. This is the first scientific movie made with Hollywood standards in India. First of its kind. Thats why I'm saying this with confident."
"When I signed Sivaji, I asked Kamal (Hassan) what kind of a maker Shankar was. He told me he is a very intelligent man, but a very demanding man as well. And now, before Sun Pictures came on board, I told Mr. Kalanidhi Maran that Shankar is a like a wild race horse – he will surely reach to the destination, but we must hang on tight to keep up with him. I'm sure that Shankar is a true visionary and would direct a fabulous Hollywood movie soon..."
Talking about A.R. Rahman, the superstar said, "For me Rahman is a real yogi. There are three important aspects that differentiate a normal man from a yogi. A true yogi has no ego. He is one who follows the path of love. Above all, he surrenders himself unto God by putting Him before all else – success, power, money. Considering these things, AR Rahman is a yogi. He has all these three qualities that spiritual gurus say make a yogi. He's a proof that you don't have to go to the Himalayas to find yogis. We, Tamils are very proud to have such a personality at our time!”
Rajini went on to say that Aishwarya Rai is no ordinary lady. She is a mixture of beauty and brains. "She is the most beautiful Miss World of our times. Even in a scene in the movie where she wore hardly any make up, she looked stunning! She's the kind of woman who is charming in every way," he added. He also comically mentioned that when he played romantic scenes with Ash, he was aware that her father in law Amitabh would warn him like 'Rajini gabardhar!'.
Coming to the unconditional affection of his fans for him, Rajini humbly said they treat him like a baby. "Parents dress their child in fancy clothes and rejoice when they see that child sing and dance. Similarly, you all dress me up in different get-ups, make me look younger, ask me to dance and sing, and praise and applaud me when I do that. It's all your doing. I do nothing," he quipped.
At the end of his speech, like the true philosopher and spiritualist he said, the super star insisted the happiness and the success because it is not permanent. "Sometimes you will have to come down before you achieve something which will take you to the top. If you succeed once and think you're successful, you would be in for a rude shock. Ups and downs in life are inevitable. Learn to accept both and move on,” he said and returned to his seat amidst thundering applause."
