Aamir Khan very sad for Peepli Live out from the Oscars Race
Aamir Khan very sad for Peepli Live out from the Oscars Race: Bollywood actor Aamir Khan Thursday said he is disappointed at “Peepli Live” failing to get selected at the Oscars but is happy that his film represented India.
"I came to know that ‘Peepli Live’ is out of Oscars. I am of course sad about it. But, I am happy that we represented India and we were one among the world’s best 60 films which were sent to Oscars. We are disappointed and sad," Aamir told reporters at a press conference at the Sun and Sand hotel here.
The actor maintained that he doesn’t make films for the Oscars.
“I don’t make them for Oscars, neither for any other awards. I make films for the audience. I value whatever response I get from the audience, critics and media. Oscars, Cannes, Berlin Festival - they are like platforms where international audience come to know about our films. If you win there, more people watch them,” said Aamir.
“Peepli Live”, the directorial debut of Anusha Rizvi, explores the disparity between rural and urban India.
The film failed to make it in the list of nine movies selected for the next next round of voting in the Foreign Language Film category for the 83rd Academy Awards.

Aishwarya Rai pached up with Aamir Khan after many years
Aishwarya Rai pached up with Aamir Khan after many years: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has always maintained a respectable relationship with megastar Amitabh Bachchan but the same cannot be said with ‘Bachchan bahu’ Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.
The face-off started when Ash abandoned Aamir Khan’s project Mangal Pandey at the last minute. At that time, Aamir called up his good friend Rani Mukerjee, who finally appeared in the film.
However, they finally patched up after so many years and that happened at the 10th wedding anniversary of Akshay Kumar and his wife Twinkle. Ash and Aamir had a cold war, since these years but now they have settled the issues.
Usually, Ash does not stay in any party for more than 10 minutes but when she came to know that Aamir and Kiran Rao are on their way, the beauty queen waited for them to reach the party. When the couple reached the party, Ash went forward and bonded with the actor like never before. They spoke warmly and discussed about Kiran’s upcoming movie Dhobi Ghat. After spending some time together, Aamir had to leave early. Soon after his exit, Ash also left the party.
A source from the party revealed that both were seen very comfortable with each other and it seemed that they have forgotten the bitter past and planned to move ahead with good will of each other.
Now, when the dup has settled their issues, can we expect any joint project in near future?

Salman Khan to teach Aamir Khan for Dhobi Ghat!
Salman Khan to teach Aamir Khan for Dhobi Ghat!: To play his character in Dhobi Ghat, Aamir Khan became a shishya of Salman Khan for a few weeks and diligently learnt from him how to create paintings.
It’s no secret that Salman is a terrific painter, even though the star downplays that talent of his. So when Aamir bagged the role of a painter in wife Kiran Rao’s film Dhobi Ghat, he turned to his good friend Salman for help.
Being the perfectionist that he is, Aamir wasn’t going to settle for a tacky portrayal of a painter. He wanted to learn the fine points of painting. And Salman more than willingly helped Aamir with that. For a few weeks he was Aamir’s art guru and Aamir his diligent student.
We hear that as guru dakshina, Aamir gave Salman a painting made by him. It’s an abstract painting with imaginative use of colours.
Salman has reportedly loved Aamir’s painting and has hung it in his bar, even though he’s off the bottle nowadays.

Recently Aamir was quoted as saying, “When I read the script of Dhobi Ghat, I spotted a sequence where I was to do a love making scene. So, I was pretty excited about the same. Finally, when we started filming the said sequence, the lovemaking was over before I could realise it.”

Kiran Rao interview: Aamir do not take bath regularly
Kiran Rao interview: Aamir do not take bath regularly: Now that's a disadvantage of having a celebrity wife. Dhobi Ghat director Kiran Rao leaked Aamir Khan's best kept secret in one of the interviews.
In an interview to Live India, Kiran Rao said, “The one thing that I don’t like about him is the fact that he doesn’t take a bath. And trust me when I say this that his bathing habits are not very regular.” To this the actor jumped in to his rescue and said, “I do take bath when I go out for work.
And considering most of the time I step out for work, I take bath most of the time. It is only when I am not stepping out or when I am on a holiday when I don’t take a bath.”
But Kiran is relieved with the fact that she has someone in the house that she can count on to understand her in and out. “We are really happy together. We are both strong minded people but till now we haven’t faced any problem and it has been six years so far. We are more of friends, so we collaborate our ideas. There are no ego clashes; in fact it is purely enriching to be with each other.”
Kiran Rao admits that she puts across certain points firmly when she's directing a movie, and Aamir is acting. “I do tell him that I am doing a certain thing because I am the director of the movie.” To this Aamir added smiling, “And I give her a suggesting and say that I am the actor of the movie.”
When quizzed about the recent patch-up wave in the industry (SRK and Farah patching up), this is what the couple had to say. “See I don’t have any grudges against anyone in the industry. So I really don’t want to comment,” says Aamir. Adding final twist to the tale was Kiran’s answer to the same question, “I am so new to the industry that I am really no one to comment on this. But I must confess that sometimes what SRK says makes no sense to me.”

Farah Khan to work with Aamir Khan after 10 years
Farah Khan to work with Aamir Khan after 10 years: Now that her `Tees Maar Khan` is over and done with, filmmaker Farah Khan is all set indulge in her first love, choreography. She`s been asked by Aamir Khan to choreograph a song for `Delhi Belly`.
Confirming her professional reunion with Aamir after 10 years, Farah says, "Yes, I`m doing a song for Aamir`s `Delhi Belly` because he has asked me to."
So, does this mean Farah is returning to choreography in a big way?
Retorts Farah, "Not at all! I don`t actively do choreography any more. Only a song here or there for friends. Besides Aamir`s song I will be doing the `Housefull 2` numbers for my brother Sajid and, of course, my husband Shirish Kunder`s `Joker`. That`s it for now. No more choreography this year. I`m busy writing my next script."
"Delhi Belly" was completed by director Abhinay Deo last year.
The project is as special to Aamir as his wife Kiran Rao`s "Dhobi Ghat" because it stars his nephew Imran Khan. The quirky film about a prodigal`s return to the capital has been described as a sex comedy.
The song choreographed by Farah Khan in "Delhi Belly" would be filmed on Imran Khan. Apparently Aamir wants the same feeling of youthful vibrancy in it that Farah had created for Aamir in the "Pehla nasha" number in "Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar".
"Pehla nasha" was the first song that Farah choreographed. After "Jo Jeeta Wohi Sikandar", she has choreographed only twice for Aamir, in "Sarfarosh" and "Dil Chahta Hai".
Aamir`s attention is now turning towards its post-production work, now that Kiran Rao`s directorial debut "Dhobi Ghat" is about to release.
Deo has moved on to his next project, "Game", for producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani.

Aamir Khan playing on a actual red-light area!
Aamir Khan playing on a actual red-light area!: Aamir Khan stayed holed up in a pokey house for a month in downtown Mumbai for wife Kiran Rao’s film Dhobi Ghat. Now, we hear he’s demanded to shoot Reema Kagti’s film, he recently signed, in Mumbai’s red light area.
The yet-untitled movie has Aamir playing a police officer who penetrates the red-light area while working on a case.
A sucker for perfection that he is, Aamir reportedly wants his portions in the film to be shot on actual locations, with real sex workers and pimps.
But director Reema Kagti and co-producers Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani have their apprehensions over Aamir’s demand as such a move might pose security threat to not just the actors but the entire film crew.
The movie also stars Rani Mukherjee and Kareena Kapoor. One of the two ladies plays a sex worker.
Since Aamir signs films very selectively, we’re sure Kagti must be having a killer script on her hands.

Kiran Rao to direct Aamir Khan to do a lovemaking scene?
Kiran Rao to direct Aamir Khan to do a lovemaking scene: Was it difficult for the first-time director Kiran Rao to film her husband Aamir Khan doing lovemaking scenes in Dhobi Ghat?
The movie is releasing on January 21, and recently some new trailers of the movie were launched where Aamir is seen in an intimate sequence with a female co-star. As the movie is about four people and their intertwined relationships, Kiran chose to show intimacy more through the emotional connection between the characters.
While talking to a daily, Kiran confesses that she chose to keep the scenes tame, “I kept those scenes tame! They all had their clothes on. Besides, intimacy is not shown through sex but by a connection that you see between the characters in the film. There is no sex in Dhobi Ghat.”
How did Aamir manage to do the steamy scenes? Kiran says he rather wanted to make them more exciting. Not to forget, he is a perfectionist.

Salman Khan, Aamir Khan big stars in Bollywood, SRK
Salman Khan, Aamir Khan big stars in Bollywood, SRK: Shahrukh Khan unlike his nature has been out of the lime light for the most part of 2010, except or the beginning during the 'My Name is Khan' Controversy with Shiv Sena. He recently shot for buddy Karan Johar's chat show Koffee with Karan. Sources say that SRK got really candid on the show with buddy and talked with an open heart.
He let out a lot of secrets on the show, as rushes of the show also saw tears in Johar's eyes.
Shahrukh made a very unlike him statement in the show when he said that Aamir and Salman were grown -ups and he would like to grow up like them one day.
He has always considered himself the superstar, the Badshah of B-town. Shahrukh's rift with Aamir in a war of words has been quite public and so are his unhealthy relations with one-time buddy Salman Khan.
However sources at the set also say that his statement is also an indication of the fact that Aamir and Salman entered the film industry earlier than him and it was just his way of saying that made people believe he has given up the number one throne.

Amitabh Bachchan's voice for Aamir Khan’s 'Delhi Belly'

The film, starring Imran Khan in the lead, is in post-production stages presently and Aamir, who is the producer, has convinced Big B to dub for the movie’s first promo, to be aired along with Aamir’s next release Dhobi Ghat on January 21.
A few days back Aamir and his wife Kiran Rao visited Big B and spoke in detail about the trailer. We hear that Aamir himself wrote Big B’s lines. Needless to say, Big B agreed to dub for it.
Two days back, Mr. Bachchan dubbed for the film at a suburban studio.
Delhi Belly is directed by Abhinay Deo. It also stars Kunal Roy Kapur and Vir Das.

Most Smarter Producer: Aamir Khan or Shahrukh Khan?

Just like cricket lovers love to have their say on the issue- who, between Tendulkar and Bradman, is a greater batsman; similarly, the comparison between Aamir and Shahrukh is a fantasy for the film lovers.
If we talk of Aamir and SRK as producers, then one can say that Aamir has done what the King Khan has failed to do. Aamir has smartly carried out his films from the whirlpool of controversies and accorded them huge publicities which have lured the audience to the theatres.
Be it ‘Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na’ or the non-starry ‘Peepli Live’ or the hearty ‘Taare Zameen Par’, there has been no dearth on his part. And no complaints! Viewers have relished what he has offered.
In fact, recently, Hindustan Kanojia Association objected to his naming his upcoming film ‘Dhobi Ghat’. But Aamir instead of bowing down to their stupid demands went ahead and won a court case. The court found nothing objectionable or insulting in the name ‘Dhobi Ghat’.
Unfortunately, Shahrukh had to scissor out the word ‘Barber’ from his film ‘Billu Barber’ which later released under the stripped name of mere ‘Billu.’ Perhaps, SRK needs to take a leaf or two out of Aamir’s books when it comes to stringent movie production.
Aamir Khan wants to play an 18-year-old in 'Dhobi Ghat'
Aamir Khan wants to play an 18-year-old in 'Dhobi Ghat': At 45, Aamir Khan is still game for playing an 18-year-old. Well, such was the irresistible charm of the character that his wife Kiran Rao had penned in her directorial debut Dhobi Ghat.
When Aamir heard the script, he was so bowled over by it that he wanted to act in it. And he wanted to play the role of an 18-year-old dhobi. But the role eventually went to Prateik Babbar.
“When I heard all the characters, I really liked Prateik's character and wanted to do that. But the character requires someone who looks 18-19 years old. So to prove it to Kiran that I can look that young, I did 3 Idiots. But she still didn't agree. Thankfully she gave me some role in her film,” Aamir said while promoting the film at Andheri.
The media persons were surely surprised to see Aamir at the do because earlier at the unveiling of the first look of the film, his wife Kiran Rao had said that she wants Aamir to stay away from the promotions so that limelight is not taken away from the movie.
“I was never meant to be away from the promotions of the film. I'm very proud of the film and I'm part of it, since I'm the producer and have also acted in it. Even Kiran can't keep me away from it,” Aamir said.
Set to release on January 21, Dhobi Ghat also stars Monica Dogra, Kriti Malhotra, Kitu Gidwani and Nafisa Khan. It tells the story of four characters in downtown Mumbai. Though each comes from a different class of society, their lives are subtly intertwined.

Aamir Khan's next is a thriller but Salman approached first!: The tinsel town is buzzing with the news that Aamir Khan’s next is a thriller to be directed by Reema Kagti and will be produced by Farhan Akhtar. But it was Salman Khan whom the director approached first.
As a tabloid reports, it was Salman who was in the mind of Reema Kagti for her paranormal thriller on the lines of films like Bhoot. Sources reveal that Salman wasn’t keen about doing the film because it had ‘too many tracks’ and rather more complex. So, he said no to the film and Reema then went up to Aamir. The actor who is game for challenging roles accepted the untitled film.
The movie also features two actresses in the main lead along with Aamir, and one actress is Kareena Kapoor.

Rakhi Sawant's inspiration with Aamir Khan's wife!
Rakhi Sawant's inspiration with Aamir Khan's wife!: Aamir Khan's talented wife Kiran Rao is intrigued in the minor screen. No, she is not set up to be a judge or a host of a show, the woman will investigate the universe of Indian reality shows, that have made stars like Rakhi Sawant, to produce a picture on it.
As roots reveal, the plan of the picture sprouted from the incident when a man from Jhansi submitted suicide following he was expressed impotent by Rakhi on her show Rakhi Ka Insaaf. There is no denying that Rakhi owes her vocation and acclaim to reality shows, and there are countless who are entranced about participating in these reality shows so that they moreover have their allotment of acclaim on TV.
Kiran’s Dhobi Ghat is complete and is ready to hit the theatres on February 11.
The first-time director has already earned the name of being a sensitive, realistic filmmaker. So, what is going to be her take on Indian reality shows? As she is quite a pro in portraying complex human relationships after Dhobi Ghat, this film will also try to show the interpersonal relationships between the participants on these shows and how their emotions are often compromised with, reports a daily.
Can we hope to see any reality star in this film enacting herself?

Kiran Rao strictly against casting Aamir Khan for Lead Role?
Kiran Rao strictly against casting Aamir Khan for Lead Role?: Hard to believe, but Kiran Rao was strictly against casting her husband Aamir Khan for the lead role in Dhobi Ghat. How Aamir wooed her makes for an interesting story.
When Aamir read the script that his wife had written he happily volunteered to play the character of Arun, a painter living in the very crowded Masjid Bunder area in Mumbai.
But Kiran was categorically against signing Aamir. Firstly, she was looking for a new face. Secondly, she wanted to shoot the movie in real setting and the presence of Aamir would create crowds of fans within minutes.
Kiran, in fact, auditioned a number of new actors. But none satisfied her. That’s when Aamir played his trick.
“I offered demonstrate to Kiran and the film’s crew how the character should be played,” Aamir said in a TV programme.
Of course, Aamir’s objective was to grab the role. And the trick did work. Once Kiran and the crew saw the rushes of Aamir playing Arun, they unanimously agreed that he suited the role best.
Then what? Aamir had what he wanted.
About Kiran’s fear of Aamir’s presence creating a mob fury? The actor shot secretly in real location and stayed inside a flat for three weeks without anyone in the area getting to know of it.
Some smooth operator he is!

Aamir Khan plays milkman in an ad!
![]() |
Aamir Khan |
The actor who has become a woman and a sardarji for television commercials in the past now transforms into a haggling milkman in a latest ad for a brand that he endorses.
In the ad, Aamir plays a milkman dressed in kurta, dhoti and gamcha. A costumer argues with him about being charged for the days when he (customer) was not even in the town. To it the milkman played by Aamir responds that the cow he milked wasn’t aware that one of the customers was out of town.
The ad is for a DTH satellite TV brand and implies that the customers shouldn’t get robbed into paying for services they haven’t availed.
Aamir Khan screening 'Peepli [Live]' for Indian Prim Minister
Aamir Khan screening 'Peepli [Live]' for Indian Prim Minister: After showing his much appreciated production Peepli [Live] to the MNS chief Raj Thackeray a few days back, superstar Aamir Khan flew to Delhi to screen the movie for Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on Sunday evening.
Dr. Singh saw the film at his official residence 7, Race Course Road in New Delhi. Reports say Aamir was accompanied by the film’s director Anusha Rizvi and actors Raghuvir Yadav and Omkar Das Manikpuri at the screening.
Aamir also screened the movie for BJP MPs. The party’s senior leader L K Advani, who had wept while seeing Aamir’s Taare Zameen Par, also watched Peepli [Live] at this special screening.
Though Mr. Advani liked the film and praised it for its realistic depiction of rural life, he wished that the movie’s theme was not farmer’s suicide but NREGA (National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) which guarantees a hundred days of wage employment per year for every adult member of the rural household.
“I wish for the main theme of the story, the filmmakers had chosen some subject other than farmers’ suicide,” Mr. Advani said.
Peepli [Live] tells the story of a poor farmer who is manipulated by his elder brother in deciding to commit suicide to avail a government scheme that pays compensation money to the family of the deceased. With elections around the corner, the media and politicians jump in to extract maximum advantage out of the poor farmer’s plight.
