Salman Khan with Bollywood SuperStar at Dabangg Premiere

Salman Khan with Bollywood SuperStar at Dabangg Premiere: Salman Khan  looked stylish in black and beamed with confidence at the premiere of his much hyped corrupt cop thriller Dabangg in Mumbai.
Salman Khan
He opted for a dapper look: half sleeve shirt, slim pants, and black dress shoes. He accessorized with his signature bracelet and a black leather belt studded with blue stones, matching the ones on his bracelet. His hair was slicked back.
Salman arrived at the venue with sister Arpita Khan who looked a doll in a black halter gown.

He personally received Bollywood veterans Dharmendra, Jitendra, Sanjay Khan and Shatrughan Sinha, and posed with them for photogs.
He walked the red carpet with Sonakshi Sinha looking rather somber, standing next to the débutante with a wide smile.

Salman's fans thronged the venue, eager to steal a glance of the star. He greeted them with a wave and shook hands with some.
He was thrilled to receive gifts from some of them. A gift that he particularly liked was a portrait of him, with which he posed for photogs.

Salman, 44, seems to have put his heart and soul into promoting Dabangg. He has looked transformed while doing so, appearing fit and youthful, with not a trace of puffiness or redness in his eyes.

He was up early this morning at 6:45am to greet his fans over Twitter:
"Eid mubarak, I am with milind deora for a morning walk I asked abt the remand home in his constituency?? He says: I will take care of it!"

Dabangg Movie Posters - The heart-eyed people

Dabangg Movie Posters - The heart-eyed people: No wonder everyone including the kids and the dogs of Salman Khan’s family were seen reveling in the Dabangg mood. The stylish chashma worn by Salman in the film has become an iconic fashion accessory just like his ‘Friends’ cap from the film Maine Pyar Kiya.
The newly christened Chulbul Pandey of the industry has released some amazing, amusing pics, that have the potential to be good posters, from his Dabangg collection on Twitter. So it’s not only Sallu who is wearing the heart-eyed glares, but also the lead actress Sonakshi Sinha, action director of Dabangg, S. Vijayan, brother Sohail Khan’s son Nirvan, designer Vikram Phadnis and also good friend David Dhawan. As Salman is a fun-loving person, his team should also enjoy.
Here are the pics and don’t miss out on the crazy names given by the star to his team members:

Amitabh Bachchan's best wishes for Salman Khan's Dabangg

Amitabh Bachchan's best wishes for  Salman Khan's Dabangg: It’s no secret that mega star Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan bond well. The two have worked together in Baghban, Babul and God Tussi Great Ho. So it was no surprise when Big B wished Salman good luck for his film Dabangg which releases today.

The Big B tweeted, “Salman ! All good wishes for 'Dabangg' - promos and song 'Munni ..' fantastic !!”

The ‘Munni’ song has Salman shaking his leg with brother Arbaaz Khan’s wife Malaika Arora.

However, Salman didn’t reply Big B’s tweet because he does not follow anybody except his sister Arpita, brother Arbaaz and co-star Sonakshi Sinha.

‘Dabangg’ is expected to have a mammoth opening at the box office due to the long weekend which begins with Eid today.

Dabangg Movie Review - Salman Khan Dabangg

Dabangg Movie Review - Salman Khan Dabangg: I say this Pandey ji from Laalgunj in UP is a policewala with pizzazz. In between bashing up the baddies black and blue, he takes out a few moments to admire his Ray Ban sunglasses, twirls them around between his fingers, and with a smart flick of the arm - like Rajnikanth  does - he slips them right in the collar at his nape.
There is a mild twitch of his neck. His stone-cold face betrays no emotion. But then, out of nowhere, the phone of one of the baddies rings.

The caller tune, a popular item song, is so zippy that the copper can’t resists breaking into an impromptu jig. Dhin chak dhin chak! He dances with abandon. And the instant the tune stops, he returns to his business of breaking bones and crushing jaws.

That’s the dabangg man. The name is Pandey, Chulbul Pandey. Job? A police officer game for anything that brings in money.

It is this bindaas characterization of Pandey that makes Dabangg a roller coaster ride without seat belts on. And only - I repeat - only Salman Khan could have played the character with such éclat.

The style and swagger of Chulbul, the diffused grin on his thinly moustached lips, the occasional loft of his brow, the crass humour, the hardened expressions, hardy physique and a mellow heart beating therein - it’s a character brought to life by Salman. Doubtlessly the best performance of his career.
The movie itself is an out and out caper with all the masala and masti thrown in to thrill and entertain even the most jaded movie buff. So grab your ticket and cola and corn, and laugh yourself silly with the antics and escapades of the most flamboyant, swashbuckling character seen on Indian screens in recent times, Robinhood Pandey, who guarantees you fun worth every penny of your ticket money.

Money se yaad aaya! it is the driving force of our cop hero. While the robbers of a bank heist count the moolah sitting in their den, Chulbul breaks in, beats them to pulp and walks away with the loot. No, he doesn’t throw the robbers behind bars. That would be foolish. Who would account for the looted money? So he lets them go, but keeps the dough. That’s his modus operandi. Plain and simple and without an iota of scruple.

At home Chulbul has an unloving stepfather (Vinod Khanna) and an equally unloving but dim-witted stepbrother Makhan (Arbaaz Khan) whom everyone lovingly calls Makkhi. The only one who loves and is loved by Chulbul is his mother (Dimple Kapadia).

And there is this village belle Rajo (Sonakshi Sinha) who is tethered to her alcoholic father. Chulbul’s heart beats for her. But she can’t marry him.

Debutant director and scriptwriter Abhinav Kashyap keeps the story simple, conventional and pretty ordinary. He throws in a bad guy in the formidable and beefed up shape of a local leader (Sonu Sood) who sees Chulbul as a hurdle in his political growth and uses the feuding Pandey brothers against each other to get rid of Chulbul.

There are fights, stunts and shootouts aplenty. The daredevil cop flings the bad guys in the air, hacks them, guns them down. And no free tickets for guessing who wins the duel between the cop and the villain in the end. What stands out, however, is the action choreographed by S Vijayan.

Predictable to its core, the story of Dabangg is certainly not its strength. In fact, some sequences can be totally edited out. The sequences of Salman’s marriage to Sonakshi, or the burning down of the factory stand out like sore thumbs and only slacken the pace of the movie. The songs (Sajid-Wajid) are perky and one too many. But with Salman doing his pelvic thrusts and Malaika Arora shaking her booty, you don’t mind one bit.
Salman Khan is the sole dynamo of Dabangg. Sonakshi Sinha’s natural gift of acting is very apparent in this debut attempt of hers. Not only is she gorgeous, she brings out an interesting range of expressions, from dour and sullen to shy and droll. Sonu Sood doesn’t lend enough menace and dread to this character though he’s doubtlessly more puffed up. Arbaaz Khan, also the producer, slips well into his crackpot character. In supporting roles Vinod Khanna and Dimple Kapadia are just about okay.

Dabangg is littered with one crackerjack of a dialogue after another. There are killer one-liners, fart jokes and even a shade of ribaldry in the dialogues by Kashyap and Dilip Shukla. In the final showdown between Salman and Sonu, the latter says: “101 kaminey marey tthey jab hum paida huye tthey” (101 scoundrels died when I was born). To it, Salman retorts, “Hum unn kamino ke bhagwan hain” (I am the god of those scoundrels).

Watch Dabangg for Salman and his humdinger of a character, Chulbul. He’s the modern Robinhood with a daredevil gut and a tear behind his sunglasses.

Katrina Kaif misses Salman Khan’s Dabangg

Katrina Kaif misses Salman Khan’s Dabangg: Katrina Kaif had a chance to watch Salman Khan’s latest film Dabangg at a special screening but she skipped it. Apparently she kept away from the film not because of Salman but because she had work on hand.
Katrina Kaif
Dabangg was screened for its cast and crew on Saturday night at Adlabs in Film City. Incidentally Katrina and Farah Khan were shooting for their film Tees Maar Khan right opposite the theatre.

While the Khan family walked in for the screening, Salman’s sister Alvira came to know about Katrina and Farah shooting nearby and went to meet them and invite them for screening.

However, Katrina and Farah had to turn down the invitation because they had to shoot Tees Maar Khan late into the night.

Salman's Dabangg named 'Chulbul' another film title!

Salman's Dabangg named 'Chulbul' another film title: It may seem like counting one’s eggs before they are in the pudding, but the makers of Dabangg have not a shred of doubt that the film, with Salman Khan in his elements, would be a slam-dunk hit of the festive season. Obviously, producer Arbaaz Khan is not ruling out the plan for a sequel.
Salman Khan's Dabangg
Arbaaz thinks the idea of the sequel is ‘exciting’, and if the movie turns out to be a huge hit, then why not! Not only Dabangg promos are fun to watch, people are also in awe of Salman’s character Chulbul Pandey. So a sequel will carry forward the escapades of the winsome character.

The movie’s main lead Salman Khan too is in love with the character, and even if Dabangg is not that a big hit, the star is apparently planning another film with the title ‘Chulbul’. One may also see a comic series on the adventures of Chulbul Pandey.

Introducing Sonakshi Sinha, Dabangg will hit the theatres on September 10. Catch Chulbul then!

Shahrukh Khan Interview: i will watch Salman Khan’s 'Dabangg'

Shahrukh Khan Interview: i will watch Salman Khan’s 'Dabangg': They may not be on talking terms and may even see through each other when face to face, but Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan don’t seem to harbour any grudge against each other.

So we were a bit surprised but not shocked when Shahrukh told reporters in Mumbai that he was looking forward to watch Salman’s upcoming film Dabangg, that too with his kids Aryan and Suhana.

“I saw Lafangey Parindey last week and will watch Dabangg at home after my children's exams are over,” he said.

Shahrukh also laughed off the rumours of his fallout with good friend and director Farah Khan who’s directing her next film Tees Maar Khan with Akshay Kumar and not with him.

“If I am not doing any film with my friends does not mean we are no longer friends. I do not think negative of my friends and wish Tees Maar Khan the best. I hope that the film turns out to be a bigger hit than Om Shanti Om,” SRK said.

The superstar has lately been busy shooting his sci-fi extravaganza Ra.One. Next he will begin shooting for Farhan Akhtar’s Don 2.

Salman Khan Bollywood Actor direct Dabangg?

Salman Khan Bollywood Actor direct Dabangg: Arbaaz Khan's Dabangg, starring Salman Khan and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead roles, is all set to release on Eid a few weeks away, but rumblings of discontentment already seem to be coming from its director Abhinav Kashyap.
Salman Khan
Says a source, "Abhinav is upset with the way Dabangg has shaped up because the script that he narrated to Salman and Arbaaz is quite different from what is on film today. This is largely due to Salman's inputs. The actor wanted to go several steps ahead of his last hit Wanted, and contributed ideas."

Sallu knows best
It is learnt that the actor, who is now also writing scripts, is quite clear about what he wants to do in a film. When being directed by a newbie, he gives his two-bits because as someone who has been acting for close to two decades, he knows what works for his fans and what his audiences want to see him doing on screen.

On a TV show on a news channel on Sunday night, Khan admitted that he'd even helped with some of the dialogues. There have been reports of the actor directing five major action sequences in Dabangg, and Abhinav feels he won't get his due credit with such rumours circulating. Even during the Wai schedule, there were reports that the first-time director was disgruntled by Sallu calling the shots.

Unhappy director
Although there is a positive buzz around the film and it topped a poll of films people want to see this season, the director is sceptical. Says the source, "Abhinav has been telling some of his close friends that he's not happy with the way Dabangg has shaped up as its 30 per cent his direction and 70 per cent Salman's effort. But of course, he will never say it to Arbaaz or Salman as they gave him a big break and if a debutant director talks negatively  about his film before its release, it will reflect badly on him."

Kashyap gets defensive when contacted, "You have calculated the percentage also? I think I can safely say you are 20 per cent mathematician and 80 per cent mischief monger!"

The Other Side
Producer Arbaaz says, "It's all rubbish. We have had a great working relationship with Abhinav. We have worked and given our inputs to everyone's mutual satisfaction."
When reminded that he has in his interviews talked about Salman directing major scenes, he adds, "Salman is a huge star and it's my production so he and his inputs are always welcome. If he contributes as a star, an actor and brother, what is the harm?"

Salman Khan Dabangg Team and Sonakshi Sinha promots their film!

Salman Khan Dabangg Team and Sonakshi Sinha promots their film: Farah Khan brought the Dabangg team of Salman Khan, Malaika Arora, Arbaaz Khan and Sonakshi Sinha to Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega.
Salman Khan Dabangg
Farah took everyone by surprise when she managed to bring Salman on the sets of Sony’s ‘Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega’ despite the actors’ strained relations with the channel with regards to ‘Dus Ka Dum’. This comes on the heels of Farah’s much publicized fallout with Shah Rukh Khan.

Dabangg is a first for Sonakshi Sinha as actress, Abhinav Kashyap as director and Arbaaz Khan as producer. The movie sees Salman Khan playing a desi Robin Hood -- a corrupt cop -- who steals from the rich and gives to the poor.

In a tete-e-tete with the media, the trio of Sonakshi, Malaika and Arbaaz talk about Dabangg, Arbaaz talks about being a producer and how Dabangg is completely different from Wanted, Malaika about her special item in the movie, and Sonakshi on the tale of Salman’s mustache among other thing.

Salman Khan Dabangg releasing come soon, Movies War

Salman Khan Dabangg releasing come soon: No one wants to clash with Salman Khan, not just in muscle power but also on the box office. With his much-awaited film Dabangg  creating all the right buzz, courtesy its gripping promos, the producers of other films are shying away (or are plain scared) from releasing their film on the same day as Dabangg.
Salman Khan Dabangg
Set for Eid release on September 10, Dabangg was earlier clashing with producer Karan Johar’s We Are Family, starring Kajol, Kareena Kapoor and Arjun Rampal. Despite having three stars in the film, K-Jo deemed it wise to avoid competition from Dabangg and release We Are Family a week earlier.

Now the film will release on September 3. Dabangg will come on Sept 10, and a week after that Vivek Oberoi will try to give Salman some competition with his Rakta Charitra.

But Salman, we’re sure, will kill all competition.

Dabangg Movie Review - Music Review - Salman Khan Dabangg

Dabangg Movie Review - Music Review - Salman Khan Dabangg: Hud Hud! Here comes desi Robinhood aka Salman Khan with his film Dabangg and its full-on-masti music. The promos are already a hit on the small screen. So what is lined up for the music buffs, or, to say, Sallu fans?
Dabangg
Sajid-Wajid, Salman’s favourite composer duo is back after Veer, creating songs for Dabangg as well. So, plug-in to Dabangg music, which for sure is going to entertain you.

In a typical Sajid-Wajid style, the album begins with Tere Mast Mast Do Nain, a Bollywood romantic number soused in sufi flavour. If Rahat Fateh Ali Khan delivers the song in his usual vigour, Shreya Ghosal’s saccharine voice adds melody to the song. Deadly combo and terrific rendering! However, the remix version of the song fails to make a mark. Rahat again wins hearts with the sad version of the song which is slow and immensely passionate.

Welcome Munni Badnam Hui song and get into the Dabangg rustic mood. The masala track has Malaika Arora’s thumkas, so expect the screen to sizzle. Newcomer Lalit Pandit is the composer of the song and gets Mamta Singh and Aishwarya to sing this raunchy number, and one will definitely enjoy its catchy lyrics, main jhandu bam hui darling tere liye - that’s mind-boggling. Well, the credit goes to lyricist Jalees Sherwani. Alas! the remix version of the song has not much to offer.

The album slips into mushy mood with Chori Kiya Re Jiya. Sonu Nigam and Shreya Ghosal team up again to give us a love ballad. But the track falls short of expectations; sadly it is just an average number.

Now comes the true Dabangg song. Hud Hud Dabangg is gritty and valorous in tone and who else than Sukhwinder to sing it. As usual, the crooner has done a brilliant job with this number which makes it one of the must-hear songs in the whole album. So what if it’s a bit similar to the Omkara track.

Hamka Peeni Hai, is another song that promises sharab, shabab and music. The folk based song crooned by Wajid with Master Salim is full on masti which makes it undoubtedly a treat for the Salman maniacs. The remix version is racy and saucy; get ready to have a blast.

The most entertaining of the lot seems to be the Dabangg theme, which is extensively used in the promos. The instrumental song has some of Salman’s dhasu dialogues from the film too. Like a fireball, the theme song enthralls.

Music directors have done full justice to the album and to Salman’s character. The actor’s die-hard fans will surely not be disappointed. The groovy songs bustle with vim and fun.

You would like to hear - Hud Hud Dabangg, Tere Mast Mast Do Nain, Munni Badnaam.

Salman Khan Dabang to attend IIFA Event in Sri Lanka but protest from Tamils!

Salman Khan Dabang IIFA Event News: Members of the Tamil community staged a protest here on Sunday against Bollywood actor Salman Khan's proposed visit to Sri Lanka for International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) awards ceremony.

Khan is due to attend the 11th IIFA awards ceremony in Colombo from June 3-5.

"We tried to give him a letter which he did not accept and said that he will attend the award function, so we have burnt photographs here. In case if they attend this function we won't let his films to release here," said Sharvana, a protestor.

Earlier, the Tamil community held a similar protest outside actor Amitabh Bachchan's residence on May 11.

The IIFA 2010 is being viewed in Sri Lanka as a 'coming out' platform for a nation that is emerging from 30 years of civil war.
The Tamil film fraternity has also rejected the idea of an Indian film event in Sri Lanka, with popular Tamil actors Rajnikanth, Kamal Hassan, Vijay, Ajith and Surya reportedly declining to take part in the IIFA.

Some 260,000 Tamil refugees, who fled fighting in the waning months of the war with the Tamil Tiger rebels in Sri Lanka and held in military-run camps, are in the process of a slow-moving rehabilitation.
