Akshay Kumar to play with cricket legends in 'Patiala House'!

Akshay Kumar to play with cricket legends in 'Patiala House'!: In the upcoming film Patiala House, Akshay Kumar gets to share screen space with real cricketers from the world over.

The film, slated to release on February 11, has Akshay playing a pace bowler from England. He’s a Punjabi and therefore his proud father (Rishi Kapoor) is against him playing for the goras.

Now, since the film revolves around cricket, director Nikhil Advani and producer Bhushan Kumar decided to rope in real cricketers for authenticity sake.

We hear that the film will feature international players like Nasir Hussain, Brendon McCullum, Herschelle Gibbs, Kieron Pollard, Andrews Symonds, Kamran Akmal, Tillakaratne Dilshan, Graham Gooch, Wasim Akram and Matthew Hayden.

“In the film, Akshay is playing for England and it is the World Cup that they are playing for. So it needed to have a lot of known faces to be seen with Akshay. That’s when we approached these players, sent them the script and got them on board,” Bhushan is quoted as saying by a news agency.

While most of the players will be seen on the field with Akshay, a few, like Nasir Hussain, will commentate.

Shoaib and Sania Walima: New Problems for new couple!

Honeymoon bliss may evade Mr and Mrs Malik for just a little longer.
Shoaib Malik has been accused in a Hyderabad court of insulting Islam by offering contradicting versions of whether he was indeed married to Ayesha Siddiqui before he wed tennis star Sania Mirza.

If the petition is accepted as valid, a non-bailable police case could follow (for insulting a religion) and that means the celebrity couple may find it hard to depart to Pakistan for a planned wedding reception.

Mirza made a surprise announcement in March that she was going to marry Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik. Nobody was more surprised, apparently, than another young woman from Hyderabad, Ayesha Siddiqui.   Just as Malik arrived at Mirza's house for the pre-wedding festivities, Siddiqui went national with the revelation that Malik had married her on the phone a few years ago.

She acknowledged it had not been the happiest of couplings.  Allegedly, Malik was embarrassed by her size, and suggested that she avoid introducing herself to anyone as his wife.

Malik himself seemed unsure of his marital status. After vehemently denying his phone nikaah, he then went through with a quickie divorce organized by community elders in Hyderabad.

In an  interview on NDTV after their wedding, the Maliks said the controversy had brought them closer together.  "It feels like we won the World Cup before the marriage," is how Shoaib described it.

Shoaib Sania walima: Expected Over 1200 guests to attend!

LAHORE: Over 1200 guests are expected to attend the star sports couple Shoaib Malik and Sania Mirza's 'walima' reception, which would be held at a five-star hotel in Lahore on April 25.
According to sources in Shoaib's family, seats for over 1200 guests have been reserved at the hotel for the function.

According to hotel sources, guests would be served with only one dish during the function.

The newly wed couple is expected to arrive in Lahore later this week, following which they would visit Sialkot, Shoaib's hometown, where a reception is to be held on April 25.

The hotel management has asked the local police authorities to arrange for foolproof security during the high profile function, The News reports.

The Malik's are also expecting 15 to 20 Indian guests during both functions. On Monday, the Andhra Pradesh High Court dismissed all cases against Shoaib, and ordered the police to return his passport.

The court also said that Shoaib and Sania are free to visit Pakistan whenever they want.

Shoaib Sania Marriage not a Religious Issue!

Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik, who got back his seized passport, has again landed up into new trouble. This time it is religion that has created trouble for the newlywed couple Sania and Shoaib.A city court has asked police to enquire into a complaint that alleges the couple to have hurt religious sentiments of Muslims.
A Muslim organization has blamed that the couple, Shoaib's fist wife Ayesha Siddiqui and 11 others involved in Shoaib’s divorce case hurt the sentiments of Muslims.

The IIIrd additional chief metropolitan magistrate referred the complaint to Banjara Hills police station for investigation and directed the police to submit the report by May 26.

Former Indian skipper Mohammed Azharuddin, Sania's father Imran Mirza and two 'Qazis' have been also named in the complaint lodged by Moullim Mohsin Bin Hussain Al-Kasary, president of Mazlumeen-e-Ummatay Mohammediya organization. Claiming that Shoaib did not officially divorce Ayesha, he said all the names mentioned in the complaints had hurt the religious sentiments.

Al-Kasary alleged,"Shoaib had initially claimed that he did not marry Ayesha but later sent divorce papers to her under a compromise reached with the help of other accused. There was no official divorce, but the accused declared that divorce proceedings are over, thus insulting religious feelings of Muslims,”

If a case is registered against the couple, their travel to Pakistan could further delay leading to postponement of ‘'walima' reception scheduled later this week.

Sania Shoaib's Love 'Win' but Controversies followed them till their wedding!

Controversies followed them till the final day of their wedding, but Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik feel their relationship has only got stronger due to the whole episode.
'It was a test for our relationship and it got stronger with the controversy. We learnt a lot. From the very beginning we were very honest to each other and that's the reason we didn't have a single argument,' Sania told NDTV in an interview.

Sania, who was with Shoaib, said: 'The fact is that we are married today and happy. Our family was very supportive, they supported us full heartedly. Nothing would have been possible without them.'

Announcement of their marriage plan made headlines, and controversy followed when a Hyderabad resident Ayesha Siddiqui claimed that she was Shoaib's first wife and he had not divorced her.

Ayesha filed a police complaint against Shoaib April 4, accusing him of cheating, harassment and criminal intimidation. Police grilled Shoaib and seized his passport.

Facing imminent arrest, Shoaib went on the backfoot and divorced Ayesha April 7 under an agreement brokered by community elders and family members of Sania. Subsequently, Ayesha withdrew her complaint against Shoaib.

The couple, who finally got married April 12, said they will get back to work soon.

'We both are very practical being sportspersons... now as we are finished with one thing and are married... we will move on to other segment,' added Sania.

According to Shoaib, the controversy has taught him a lot and it will help them in life.

Sania-Shoaib Reception: Attends N. Chandrababu Naidu!

Former Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu was one of the dignitaries who attended Sania-Shoaib wedding reception. The Telugu Desam president walked into the Ball Room of hotel Taj Krishna at around 8:30 pm where the reception was being held.
The evening took a quiet start with Shoaib’s mother being the first one to enter the venue. Malik's mother Sultana said, “I am very happy. We were all eagerly waiting for this evening. Insha Allah, we will have a grand function in Sialkot on April 17.”

Pakistan cricketer Tanvir Sohail who looked happy to be present there said,  “I am representing the Pakistan cricketing fraternity here. It feels great to be in India and especially in Hyderabad for this august occasion. The best part is we are taking our ‘bhabhi' [Sania] back home.”

The evening included tinsel town stars  Nagarjuna and his wife Amala, Jagapathi Babu, Venkatesh, Vishnuvardhan and film producer V.J. Rajendra Prasad .Among sportstars present in the reception were  former Davis Cuppers S.P. Mishra and Vasudeva Reddy, and tennis stars of yesteryears, Jayadeep Mukherjee and Enrico Piperno and  former test cricketer Arshad Ayub .

Pakistan Population Welfare Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan, cricketer Sohail Tanvir and singer Waris Baig have arrived here to attend the wedding reception of Shoaib Malik and Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza Thursday evening.
Awan, who landed in Hyderabad Wednesday night, hoped that the marriage of the two celebrities would help strengthen the ties between India and Pakistan.

“I am here to attend the wedding reception and I am confident that this marriage will help in the peace process,” she told reporters at the airport.

The minister, who would represent the Pakistani government at the reception Thursday, said she would present a gold crown to Sania as a special gift from the people of Sialkot, Shoaib’s home town. The minister also comes from the same town.

Awan, who is on a five-day visit to India at the invitation of union Health Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad, will also hand over gifts from Pakistan President Asif Zardari and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani to the couple.

The minister reiterated that the newly-wed couple would be brand ambassadors of Pakistan population welfare ministry.

“We are aware of the legal process in India and the issue of passport will be resolved very soon,” she said when asked about Shoaib’s passport, which is still with a city court.

The Hyderabad Police have said it could take a week for the former Pakistan skipper to get back his passport as he would have to complete legal formalities with regard to the closure of the case filed against him by his first wife Ayesha Siddiqui.

Ayesha withdrew her complaint against Shoaib after the latter divorced her. But the cricketer’s passport, seized by the police after grilling him April 5, is still with the court.

The Pakistani cricketer married the Indian tennis ace Monday.

Meanwhile, the stage is set for the gala wedding reception at hotel Taj Krishna in Hyderabad. Sania’s family has invited about 1,000 guests, including film personalities and sportspersons.

Actors Salman Khan and Shahid Kapoor, tennis stars Leander Paes and Mahesh Bhupati, and ace shuttler Pullela Gopichand are among some of the celebrities expected to attend the reception.

Over 1000 guests, including a delegation from Pakistan led by Federal Minister for Population Welfare Firdous Ashiq Awan are expected to attend Indian tennis star Sania Mirza and cricketer Shoaib Malik's wedding reception here tonight.
The guests includes many VVIPs from the country as well as from across the border. Pakistan's Population Welfare minister Firdous and Shoaib's former team-mate Sohail Tanveer have already arrived here late last night for the grand reception.

The Pakistani delegation will be presenting a golden crown to Sania, specially made for the occasion.

The Pakistani minister had said that the purpose of their visit was to extend greetings to the newly-wed couple.

"The marriage of Sania and Shoaib would help in promoting friendship between the two countries," Firdous said.

Sania and Shoaib took their wedding vows on Monday in a simple ceremony before a select gathering of family and friends after the run-up to their marriage was ruled by controversies surrounding the Pakistani cricketer's divorce proceedings with another Hyderabadi, Ayesha Siddiqui.

Shoaib Sania Wedding Reception: Bollywood not shining at Reception

It is a simple invite with a beige background and red and gold lettering. But in Hyderabad this not-so-freely-distributed wedding invite is the talk of the town.
The Sania-Shoaib wedding reception on Thursday at the posh Taj Krishna apart from being national news is also the largest society event for the city.

The city has a small society circuit, especially the Mirza family circle, which is very distinct from the pub hopping crowd that gracing the party pages. It is the foreign-educated, articulate and well-travelled business community of the city that meets for lunch everyday at the Nizam Club to discuss politics and money. And for the rest of the time they are ensconced behind the imposing gates of their plush bungalows scattered across Jubilee and Banjara Hills.

“Everyone is calling the immediate family and friends of the Mirzas to try and get an invitation,” said Mohammed Ahmed, an invitee. “It is a high profile event for the city and ‘have you got an invite’ has become the topic of conversation. The whole Bollywood factor and media glare enhances the glamour,” said the businessman.

The reception has a guest list of 1200 people, of which 800 are from Hyderabad. But for a society wedding the list is rather modest. “Usually, weddings in known families have about 3000 guests at the reception. So, I am guessing a lot of people have not got invites,” Ahmed added.

While the event may be high profile, the Hyderabad elite will not give it undue importance. “It is the wedding season and I end up attending a wedding every night. Sania’s father is my childhood friend so I will attend the reception to bless the couple,” said Sajid Baig, another invitee.

In fact, the hype has made some shy of the event. “I am not too sure if I will go. We have to carry the card for security reasons. It will be very crowded because of the media and it is just a lot of effort,” said Rashid Ali, another invitee, who is related to the Mirzas.

Surprisingly, the mediators, who rescued Shoaib Malik from what would have become an ugly legal battle, have not been invited. The intervention of these community representatives ensured a quick divorce between Ayesha Siddiqui and Malik. “The elders of the community are not happy with the way the wedding was conducted and may not attend the reception,” said Adib Khan, one of the mediators. Khan said that elders were upset that the nikaahnama did not state it was Shoaib’s second marriage. Also, the mehr amount of Rs 61 lakh, which is meant as security for the bride, was extravagant and would now set an expensive precedent in the society.

Early on Wednesday morning, a large bouquet of flowers arrived in an autorickshaw at the Mirza household. The flowers were from Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan congratulating Sania and expressing their regret at not being able to attend the reception.

Even the three Khan brothers, Salman, Sohail and Arbaaz, are tied up. So is SRK.

Tennis star Leander and his wife Rhea Pillai are skipping the reception. Mahesh Bhupathi, who is playing the Monte Carlo Masters in Monaco, may attend the reception if he does not have a match on Thursday.

This leaves only a few B-town buddies such as Tabu, Neha Dhupia and Rakshanda Khan, who will be there to wish the couple.

Sania Shoaib Wedding Photos: Sania Ignores Shahid Kapoor

Love hurts. It's common knowledge that Sania Mirza was linked to Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor in the past but she has ignored him for her wedding reception to be held tomorrow (April 15) in Hyderabad.
It is said that Salman Khan’s entire family including his brothers Arbaaz and Sohail have been invited to the wedding reception. Big personalities like Mahesh Bhupathi, Leander Paes and wife Rhea Pillai, Raza Murad and Kaajal Anand are in the questlist but Shahid has not been invited.
Sania tied the knot with Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik on April 12 at a private ceremony in Hyderabad. It was followed by Mehndi ceremony yesterday (April 13). Sangeet ceremony will be held today followed by wedding reception tomorrow.

Shoaib-Sania wedding: Nikah Ceremony and Family Affairs!

HYDERABAD: The Mirza family threw their weight behind Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik, who was embroiled in controversial divorce proceedings with another Hyderabadi, but by the end of Monday evening, it was clear that they were both stronger and wiser for the experience.
While Sania has turned to designer siblings Shantanu and Nikhil for her clothes for the April 15 reception in Hyderabad, and the one to follow in Pakistan, she had always wanted to wear her mother’s wedding sari for her own nikah. She made that decision the moment she first laid eyes on Nasima’s sari as a teenager. Nasima had only worn the sari once, on her own wedding day, and then had locked it away until she pulled it out for her first born.

Sania’s nikah, which had a gathering of less than 100 people, including the groom’s immediate family —- mother Sultana Malik, three sisters and their families and younger brother — was held at the Taj Krishna grand ballroom. There were separate stages for the bride and groom, with a partition running down the giant hallway. The stages were done in traditional Hyderabadi fashion. Chunky pillars lined the regal, gold-edged backdrop, which had floral decorations of roses, carnations and lilies running down the panels. The cuisine was essentially Hyderabadi too, from the biryani down to the jalebis.

As the hour-long ceremony came to a close, and photographers went into overdrive, the guests settled down to a round of refreshments. The tension of the last few days, was replaced by relief and joy, which slowly gave away to tears. As Nasima and Imran gave away their daughter to her husband’s family, they could do little to hide their tears. The Mirzas are many things, but essentially they are a family that has stood together through sunshine and storm.

Sania-Shoaib Wedding: Venue Today at Hotel Taj Krishna in Hyderabad at 1 pm

Wonderful relevance as today Sania Mirza, Indian Tennis Player & Shoaib Malik, Pakistani cricketer will get married in Hyderabad on Monday at 1 pm at Hotel Taj Krishna. Both couple’s families revealed this announcement on today’s morning, four days prior to the pre-defined date. You can also watch the marriage photos of Sania-Shoaib.
Sania’s media planner Richa disclosed “Sania and Shoaib marriage will take place today. We can’t reveal time and venue of the marriage because of security reasons.” She also declared that the mehendi function will occur on Tuesday in which Sania will wear 25 years back sari of her mother. The wedding function is likely to happen at 1pm in the afternoon of Monday.

Earlier Sania-Shoaib was scheduled to get married on 15th April. No reason is yet found why the marriage date again changed for Monday. Sources tell that it may be due to many complaints by a segment of ulemas (Muslim clerics) over why Sania-Shoaib is staying now in the same house.

A team of spiritual scholars, the Sunni Ulema Board, on Sunday took out an order against the duo alleging both of them had brought disregard to Islam and Muslim society by their acts as they were living together without wedding. A spiritual scholar Maulana Haseebul Hasan Siddiqui told “The kind of actions the two are indulging in like living together and addressing media together are haram in Islam.”

Finally, Sania-Shoaib is getting married today in Hyderabad at 1 pm at Hotel Taj

Sania Shoaib Scandal: Sought to Re-Schedule their Marriage!

Soon after his divorce with Ayesha Siddiqui and speculations about his wedding date, Shoaib Malik finds himself in the middle of a new controversy.
Reports suggest that the former cricket captain has used different names of his father in the divorce documents of Ayesha Siddiqui and the wedding card of Sania Mirza.

Sania and Shoaib sought to re-schedule their marriage to Friday but were forced to push it back to the original date of April 15 due to legal hassles.

Shoaib Sania Scandal: Most Interesting Love Story!

Sania Shoaib Marriage: For the past week, television audiences in India have been getting lessons for Qazis about the finer points of a “nikahnama” and a “talaqnama”, courtesy the April 15 wedding of Indian tennis sensation Sania Mirza with Pakistan’s former cricket Test captain, Shoaib Malik.
The announcement of the impending wedding came as a surprise to the close-knit, aristocratic Muslim elite of Hyderabad, once the capital of the Nizam-ruled princely state of the same name before 1947, and shortly thereafter the capital of Andhra Pradesh and on the way to becoming the capital of the to-be-formed Telengana State.

Sania had been engaged to a personable young man from one of the city’s best families, but it would appear that both decided to call off the match, once it became clear that for years, Sania had been fascinated by the cricket star from across the border. The Mirzas are a cultured family with strong views on the right of women to decide their own destinies, so it was that they finally gave their consent to their daughter’s insistence that she would marry no one but Shoaib.

Although India-Pakistan marriages do take place, yet most are between siblings who live in the US or the EU, where they meet, fall in love, and marry. There are few Indian or Pakistani parents who seek out brides or grooms for their children in the other country, aware as they are of the tensions between the two lands, which do not seem to be in any hurry to disappear.

Sania Mirza is a modern girl with an excellent character (the two can indeed go together), who saw in the attractive cricketeer a worthy life companion. As for Shoaib, he deserves praise for avoiding the stereotypical burkha-clad bride in favour of a spouse who faced down those who demanded that she “prove she was a good Muslim” by wearing full-length skirts while playing tennis, not to mention fully covering the arms and the hair as well. It is unlikely that Sania would have gone as far as she has in the game, had she agreed to such a condition. The upshot was that she continued to wear the usual tennis attire, while remaining a good Muslim and indeed, a good Indian and most important, a good human being.

And what of the other girl, Ayesha Siddiqui? She had remained quiet for eight years after performing a telephone nikahmama with Shoaib, although it was claimed by those close to her that she had lived with him as husband and wife.

When news exploded on television screens of the Sania-Shoaib wedding, Ayesha decided that she had had enough of being the silent sufferer.Through her family — who, like the Mirzas, are one of the best in Hyderabad — she filed a police complaint against Shoaib, that he was marrying Sania without even acknowledging her, Ayesha, as his first wife, much less divorcing her. Although the law in India permits Shoaib to marry up to four wives, it is clear that a modern girl such as Sania would not tolerate any relationship except one that was exclusive.

Hence, the dashing cricketeer had the option of either divorcing Ayesha (which was all that the Siddiqui family wanted) or denying that he was ever married, by claiming that the telephone nikahnama was invalid and that the girl he was supposed to have been married to was not the one whom he believed to have been Ayesha

It is difficult to believe that the Siddiqui family would have indulged in false representations to get their daughter married off. Indeed, their standing in Hyderabad society is so strong that it would have been easy to get a good match for their beloved daughter, a gracious and warm person. However,Ayesha clearly was hoping that her beloved Shoaib would some day come back to her, and hence refused to initiate divorce proceedings with him, preferring solitude to marriage to someone else.

It was only when the happy faces of Shoaib and Sania appeared repeatedly on television screens that Ayesha accepted that her wish - to be reunited with her Pakistani hero- would never get fulfilled. She thereupon did the civilised thing and asked for a divorce, to which Shoaib responded by questioning her beauty and even the fact of their nikahnama.

Incensed by this, the scorned Ayesha turned over all the evidence she had of her relationship with Shoaib to the Andhra police, who in turn handed it over to the Central Bureau of Investigation. Those in the know say that it was clear that there had indeed been a marriage, and that Shoaib was being forgetful when he claimed never to have met Ayesha.

Why did Shoaib deny any intimacy with a woman who claimed that she had had a miscarriage while having his baby? Was it because he was uneasy at Sania’s reaction to the news that she was only his second wife? Or because he was unaware of the evidence of his one-time closeness to Ayesha?

Those who know both families (who incidentally have been friends of each other for long) say that Sania would not have minded the truth, as she had made up her mind to marry Shoaib, and was not credulous enough to believe that anyone in the starry world of cricket could be a monk in his private life.

Those who play in matches in India know how often charming women (of all shapes, age and marital status) call them in their hotel rooms, offering to come and “cheer them up” before a match, or after one. In the economic elite of the big cities of India, having a cricketing star as a companion is a mark of distinction, which is why most cricketeers touring India (or Australia, South Africa or the UK) usually have very large lists of lovely women that they can call on for solace.

Indeed, several international players go for holidays with these beauties, who ask for nothing expect a few days of fun. If Shoaib Malik was a recluse off the field, he was in a very small minority of players, and this fact must have been no secret to the well-connected Mirza family. However, they sportingly decided to stand by their daughter, who too has stood by her finance. The youth of India adore Sania Mirza, and this is not only because of her Tennis, excellent though that is.

They see in Sania a strong, independent woman who is not afraid to call a spade a spade or do what she feels is right. Sania has shown that one can be modest without what some would call overdressing and that even a very modern girl can have a spotless character. Shoaib deserves praise for choosing her as his bride, rather than someone more submissive. However, her fans here will be looking to see if marriage changes Sania, and makes her retreat into more traditional dress or lifestyle.

The couple plan to live in Dubai (thus avoiding the static caused by an India-Pakistan marriage in India),a city that allows young people the dress ands lifestyle they prefer. Clearly, this decision of theirs is the loss of both India and Pakistan, although hopefully, both will continue to represent their respective countries

As indeed they have. It is sad that even today, any India-Pakistan marriage sparks off the kind of prurient interest and controversy as has been generated by the impending wedding of Sania with her chosen beau, Shoaib. Of course, the publicity has made the banquet at the Taj Krishna in Hyderabad one of the most sought-after invitations in the country, with those getting the tastefully-printed showing off their prize to friends!

Seeing all this, the mind returns to another India-Pakistan couple, the bookish Anil Dharkar and his lovely Pakistani bride Imtiaz, who met and married nearly four decades ago, and thereafter settled down in Muimbai, just as Bal Thackeray was getting into his stride. Both Anil and Imtiaz would have had their share of worries, some of it caused by their clashing natoonalities, but overall, any more have given them support than have calumniated them.

They, and their talented daughter, are now a prized jewel in the cultural life of India, and Anil and Imtiaz deserve praise for having taken such a bold leap into such a turbulent future. Hopefully, just as with the Dharkars, India-Pakistan relations too will enter into a period of maturity and mutual acceptance of each other as best friends.

Shoaib-Sania Scandal: Still More And More Problems Faces together!

Shoaib-Sania marriage: In a run-up to the triangular tales of Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik’s marriage and divorce involving a Hyderabadi woman, Ayesha Siddiqui, and the Indian tennis star, Sania Mirza, most papers have expressed disapproval of the “overkill” by the media.
Rashtriya Sahara, in an editorial on April 4, writes : “The media has shown such great interest in this (Shoaib-Sania) marriage that the entire tension on India-Pakistan borders has vanished and everybody has forgotten that there is any other problem also between the two countries.

But it is a matter of great sorrow that no stone has been left unturned in hurting the sentiments of a popular and renowned player like Sania”.

Most papers have also come down heavily on Shiv Sena leader Balasaheb Thackeray and ABVP for their concerted attacks on Sania for choosing a Pakistani as her life partner. They tend to avoid the complexities born out of the claims made by Ayesha Siddiqui. In fact there are virtually no editorial comments on the drama.

Sania Shoaib Scandal: Shoaib Malik Divorced Ayesha Siddique

The week-long suspense involving Pakistan cricketer Shoaib Malik and his ‘first wife’ Ayesha Siddiqui ended on Wednesday after the cricketer, in an abrupt climbdown, literally accepted his marriage to Ayesha by settling for a divorce. The compromise now paves the way for his marriage to tennis star Sania Mirza.
Sania will be Malik’s second wife, according to Islamic law, said a person involved in the negotiations. Under the compromise, brokered by a couple of politicians and several religious leaders, Malik agreed to sign the talaqnama (divorce papers) and also pay Rs5,000 per month for three months as maintenance to Ayesha.

“Neither Ayesha nor Malik has won or lost in the process,’’ said Abid Rasool Khan, who led the peace initiative. According to him, though Malik was not keen on a compromise, he obliged keeping in view his future with Sania. “The compromise was unconditional,’’ Khan said, adding Ayesha, from the beginning, was keen on a formal divorce. Malik, too, wanted to come clean without any legal troubles before his marriage to Sania. “It’s a win-win situation for both,’’ he said.

Major Qadri, who was part of the team that negotiated with both parties, told DNA that a talaqnama was handed over to the mediators by Malik and it would now be registered with a qazi of Golconda.

“The talaqnama is with me. We will get it registered with the qazi and also notarise it,” he said. Qadri clarified that going by Islamic law, Sania would be the second wife of Malik.

After the deal, Ayesha’s representatives approached Hyderabad police commissioner AK Khan and withdrew their complaint.

Sania-Shoaib's marriage: Big Exploring Scandal?

The great Indian wedding spectacle just got itself a version 2. The reality TV wedding of Rahul Mahajan and Dimpy Ganguly was not only the newest low on the wedding block, it also had people guessing till the last minute if they’d actually say ‘I do.’ Reason? The ‘almost’ wedding of Rakhi Sawant and Elesh, that eventually didn’t happen, which was, if we see it that way, a mere episode in the ‘blast from the past’ shaadi series of Indian cinema and television. The latest link in the chain – will Sania and Shoaib manage the walk till the end of the altar?
The Indo-Pak love match has turned out to be yet another example of what has been absolutely key to Indian cinema – a dramatic spectacle of a just-to-be-married couple whose matrimonial plans are rudely interrupted by a third woman who bursts on to the scene with a, “Thehro! Yeh shaadi nahi ho sakti!” Like they say,

where there is a will, there are 5000 relatives, and where is there is a to-be-wedded couple – there is an alleged beeta hua kal. As Shoaib is ‘Maha’ troubled ahead of his nikaah, Abhishek Bachchan was similarly storm struck by Jhanvi, who claimed she was his wife, right before his wedding to Ash. It’s a tried and tested plot – in the midst of a perfect love story, enters a perfect stranger with strange accusations. Throw in a “Main iske bachchey ki ... ” and you have the perfect potboiler.

But dare we complete a chain without Chand and Fiza, that first couple of wedding drama? Changes in religion and name notwithstanding, it lead to Chand going back to his first wife, dropping Fiza like a hot potato, all in the public eye. So convinced is the audience of the puraana kissa, that bets are already on whether the Shoaib-Sania alliance will last, even before they’ve tied the knot. Of course, it has upstaged the till-now favourite in the number one position in the betting game – whether Rahul and Dimpy’s wedlock is here to stay. Any guesses?

Shoaib-Sania: Press Conference in Public together!

April 15 remains the big day; Hyderabad  remains the location; Ayesha Siddiqui remains, according to the couple, a woman who Malik has never met.
In earlier statements, most of them inconsistent in their version of events, Malik has said he did marry a woman on the phone who he had never met, but that this wedding cannot be considered legal, especially because his bride wasn’t the woman she pretended to be in photos sent to him during their courtship on the phone.

Malik said he will stay in Hyderabad to cooperate with the police. It’s not a magnaminous offer, necessarily. Malik has been ordered not to leave the country while the police examines the case filed against him by Siddiqui’s father. Malik has been accused of criminal intimidation and of cheating a married woman.

These are not nice things for me to hear about my future husband, said Mirza. She added that Malik had told her about his phone-relationship with Siddiqui, also a Hyderabad resident, before the controversy erupted.

Both Malik and Mirza emphasized that they are from respectable families and would like to concentrate on their wedding preparations rather than press conferences. They then spent a half-hour taking questions about Siddiqui.

“We are both representing our countries in many ways,” said Mirza.

“Bring this person into the open,” added Malik, “where is she, why isn’t she before a camera,” he asked, referring to Siddiqui.

Sania-Shoaib Marriage: FIR Againts Shoaib Malik!

Tennis star Sania Mirza could face more trouble before her April 15 marriage with embattled Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik as an advocate has filed a police complaint that her marriage would amount to treason.
Srinivas Rao Tuesday lodged a complaint with Banjara Hills police station and demanded that all awards and rewards given to her by the government of India be taken back.

"She earned crores of rupees while playing tennis as an Indian player. Now her act of marrying a Pakistani amounts to sedition," said Srinivas Rao, an advocate in Andhra Pradesh High Court.

"She received all awards and rewards from the tax payers' money. If she goes ahead with her marriage to a Pakistani, the government should take back whatever was presented to her," he said and pointed out that the government presented her cash prizes and house sites.
