Tennis star Sania Mirza and her cricketer husband Shoaib Malik returned to India on Wednesday after their walima in Lahore. The couple landed in Delhi on way to Hyderabad.
The couple’s reception in Lahore on Tuesday evening was held at the city’s Pearl Continental Hotel and was the second such reception thrown by the family after the one in Sialkot. The reception was attended by around 1,000 guests.
Among those who attended the reception were former cricketers Wasim Bari and Aamir Sohail, Punjab Governor Salmaan Taseer and Pakistan Population Minister Firdous Ashiq Awan.
Shoaib Malik said he will decide about permanent residence after consultations with Sania Mirza. Sania’s father and other family members termed their stay in Pakistan as memorable.
Shoaib said he is optimistic about his cricket come back and said his lawyer will appear in the court on his behalf during hearing of appeal filed against PCB ban.
