Vidya Balan chipped in to help Ganesh Chaturthi go green by donating newspapers for making eco friendly Ganesh idols at an event at Cafe Basilico in Bandra, Mumbai.

The event was organized by 92.7 BIG FM under the BIG Green Ganesha 2010 initiative to make Ganesh idols from recycled material such as newspaper. Balan was the first to donate newspapers.
The 32-year-old talent powerhouse was dressed in a blue and gray print kurta and white loose fit bottom. Her hair, styled in vertical waves with a middle parting, framed her face. She wore nude lip gloss and thick eyeliner.
Balan is set to start filming for Sujoy Ghosh's Kahaani set in Kolkata. She is looking forward to being in the city during the Durga Puja festival, something she has not experienced before.

"I'm told the city dons new clothes to welcome Maa and I can't wait to see it. May be I could go 'pandal' hopping and visit Kalighat. That's a must, even during the crazy festive season," Balan told HT.
