Aamir Khan who is one actor who is the epicenter of romance amongst the bollywood heroes, himself is a big fan of the yesteryear veteran star who symbolized romance and male chauvinism in Hindi cinema in the 60’s and 70’s Shammi Kapoor.
This is one member of the famous Kapoor Khandaan who epitomized romance on the silver screen and his on screen chemistry with actresses ranging from Rajeshwari, to Nanda to Sharmila to Asha Parekh to Mumtaz to Hema Malini to a host of other top heroines is incomparable even today. Some of theveteran actor’s films include names like Brahmachari, Teesri Manzil, and Love in Paris etc.
According to reports, recently Aamir Khan, who was shooting for the Cine Artiste Association for a special segment on romance, wanted to film it with Shammi Kapoor and had sent some other officials for requesting theveteran actor to oblige. But then they were sent back citing grounds of illness.
Now, Aamir who was keen on having his favourite actor for the sequence did not give up and himself went on to the respected actor’s place. It was then agreed upon by both to go ahead with the shoot.
As the shooting was done without a hitch, Aamir was seemingly very pleased with the outcome and according to sources close to theactor he was excitedly telling the people around that when this star of yester years looked into the eyes of his heroines it was absolute magic created on screen.
So much in awe is Aamir of the master actor Shammi Kapoor that to shoot for his own song of Zoobi Doobi from the recent hit film ‘3 Idiots’, for the Cine Artistic Association’s documentary he got it filmed at the veteran actor’s house to make it a more memorable one.
Now that’s what we call dedication, in the true bollywood style Amir has shown his respects to his favouriteactor by this gesture, we are impressed !
