Celebrities in the Spotlight - Shah Rukh Khan

Fondly dubbed the Badshah of Bollywood  - quite literally, since his name Shahrukh happens to mean 'face of the king' - is one megastar who is adored by critics and fans, colleagues and rivals alike.

With the need to provide for his family and a love for television commercials, Shahrukh joined the cast of hit TV soap Fauji in 1999 before friend Vivek Vaswani and Hema Malini stepped in to launch his career in Bollywood.

It was implemented in the release of the commercially successful Deewana.  But his big screen debut in 1992 was only the tip of the iceberg as Shahrukh's career has been littered with box office hits, coveted awards and adoring fans ever since.

His sizzling on screen chemistry with co-stars such as Kajol, Juhi Chawla and Madhuri Dixit is bested only by the off-screen relationship he shares with wife Gauri Khan, whom he married before his Bollywood break, and has two lovely children with - Aryan and Suhana.

And despite occasional frictions with other Bollywood personalities - most notably members of the Bachchan family, Salman and Aamir - SRK counts among his closest mates many Bollywood biggies such as Saif Ali Khan, Anil Kapoor and Karan Johar.

What do you think of the Budget?

The Budget has ignored the entertainment industry entirely. Films and television constitute an important industry and contribute significantly to the national exchequer. But, its concerns have yet again not been addressed.

Have your expectations of the Budget been met?

As far as my industry is concerned, no. However, the hike in TDS exemption and the subsequent increase in disposable incomes will only bring relief to the common man and the growing working classes in India.

Any particular concern?

As directors and filmmakers, we are always looking for ways to bring down production costs. However, there is nothing in the Budget to aid this. Also, I believe that a service tax has been levied on assigning the copyrights of the film, music or any other IPR, which will be an added expense.

How has the Budget affected you personally?

Any Budget should look at overall growth of the country. In that respect, this year's Budget is extremely positive and optimistic. Overall, it's been an impactful Budget, one that looks at growth of the nation.

Aishwarya Rai Plans Move To London To Escape Paparazzi

Mind-bogglingly beautiful actress Aishwarya Rai is considering a move to London in a final bid to escape the attentions of the sordid members of the delinquent media and the Mumbai paparazzi.

Speculation from The Mumbai Mirror as to whether or not Aishwarya is pregnant has finally driven her patient husband into fits of uncontrolled anger.

So actor Abhishek Bacchan has ordered that neither his wife nor any of their family will attend any event sponsored by that newspaper. He also denied that Aishwarya was suffering from Stomach TB and was therefore unable to ever conceive children.

"That's our business he screamed. "You people are driving us out of India".

Abhishek believes that the British Press are far friendlier than the polite style of media that typifies Indian life. He believes London journalists don't pester celebrities and tend to leave them in peace whenever they go out for the evening: especially when they go to a West End restaurant with their family.

He also considers Mumbai paparazzi are particularly rude. "They think it's their right to creep up on you and take your photograph any time of the day or night", he declared.

"We don't expect to get these sort of problems in a friendly city such as London".

Aishwarya Rai Casts Her Sweet Revenge

Recently, Aishwarya Rai had a tough time after false reports were published in a tabloid saying that she suffers from stomach tuberculosis and thus is facing problem to conceive.

Ash is in no mood to compromise with the tabloid and when she came to know that it is associated with the organizer of the award function that she is going to perform, immediately she changed her decision.

Now Ash has decided not to perform for the show even if they threw a large sum to lure her. It seems anger and hurt of Ash is still fresh as she has turned turn down a lucrative amount of eighty five lakhs to enliven the stage with her hot number.
