R&B singer Akon arrived in India: Popular R&B singer Akon arrived in Mumbai on Tuesday for a three-day visit during which he will perform at a private show in Pune.
Dressed in black, Akon walked out of the airport with a small posse of security personnel. There weren’t many fans to greet him as his visit has been kept hush-hush.
The singer has already left for his private show in Pune after which he’ll return to Mumbai. He’s also likely to meet Shahrukh Khan whose upcoming film Ra.One will have songs by him.

Akon, Lionel Richie and Deepika Padukone live on IPL Opening Ceremony!
There is a Biggest live music, song and dance at the "IPL Opening Ceremony 2010". There will be a two day highly charged performance by International singers, musicians and pop stars, along with our desi star Deepika Padukone, shaking a leg to her famous songs.
The show is being projected as being the biggest and the most magnificent shows of the year. A grand opening will see the Briton Reggae Band UB40 singing the famous ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’. Then, Bjorn will croon on the unforgettable number by ABBA, ‘Dancing Queen’.
Deepika Padukone is expected to come on stage with at least 40 side dancers. They are to perform on the number ‘I Gotta Feeling’, by Black Eyed Peas. After that Deepika is to shake a leg on her hot number ‘Uff Teri Ada’, from her latest flick ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’.After which her number from ‘Love Aaj Kal’, called Twist, will be performed on.
The International pop singer Akon, who is in India, is scheduled to perform at the extravaganza and so is Lionel Richie, who is to add to the International star attraction of the show.
Akon comes to India for Shahrukh Khan
Akon certainly enjoys a huge fan following in India and the singer is soon going to land here. But the ones for whom he will sing ‘Smack That’ are not his fans but friend Shahrukh Khan. Whoa!
As per reports, Akon and SRK are good friends, and coming Monday he will make a special appearance at the actor’s high-profile, lavish party to celebrate the beginning of third season of IPL.
The party will have several Bollywood stars, many international cricketers, business tycoons and many celebrated fashion people. Akon will perform live at the event which is going to happen in Mumbai.
And possibly Akon will also record the song for Shahrukh’s first sci-fi film ‘Ra. 1’during his tour to Mumbai.
