Bollywood3000: The closing ceremony of the IPL in the DY Patil stadium in Navi Mumbai was a spectacular treat for thousands who had gathered there, as well as those who watched the amazing glitterati on TV.

Music Maestro A.R.Rahman had the entire stadium roaring aloud with his mind blowing numbers like ‘Vande Mataram’, ‘Jai Ho’, etc. He was dressed in pure white and was on a moving vehicle with dancers performing in a big circle.

The bombshell of bollywood, Bipasha Basu looking out of the world in an all black outfit performed in a special song recorded for the IPL, which was based on the title track from her film ‘Race’, she also gyrated in style on the song track ‘All the Best’. She had a group of dancers moving to the beat with equal gutso.

Shahid Kapoor, the energetic star of bollywood young brigade, made a splash with his movements in tracks like ‘Dhan Te Naan’, and two other popular tracks from on his movies. The star had an entourage of dancers accompanying him and his great energy filled performances simply rocked the atmosphere.

The show had some very scintillating laser light shows, which was a great treat for one and all. To finish off the ceremony, the trophy replica was taken all over the ground and it was with a swinging bat that a ball shaped balloon was hit.

This was the significant moment, when the event was finally closed, and the finals between Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings began.

According to the tabloids reports, even after losing almost all its matches and being virtually out of the IPL race, Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan’s IPL team Kolkata Knight Riders' players are still having a blast at the IPL Nights after every match.

Post match parties happening at ITC The Sonar Calcutta have even provided fans with a golden opportunity to meet not just their favorite cricketing stars but also film celebrities.

According to a source at the post match parties, everyone parties hard, whether they have ended on the winning side or on the losing side.

“After a few drinks they forget everything and enjoy themselves through the night,” said DJ Harish.

However, Harish believes that, “This party peak is just because of IPL-SRK-KKR. Soon, it’ll be back to business as usual.”

Kolkata Knight Rider is scheduled to play its last match on Monday at the Eden Gardens on their home ground in Kolkata against Mumbai Indians.

Despite suffering disappointment because of KKR’s losing streak in the IPL, SRK has said that he’s still hopeful that the team will manage to win its last match against the Mumbai Indians to give fans something to cheer about.

"Have no idea on run rates etc but hope we can give KKR followers something to cheer about tomorrow," wrote SRK on his Twitter page. "Last match at home... we will miss it all."

SRK even clarified his stance on KKR; that irrespective of their poor performance he still believes in them and is not considering selling KKR, as some media reports keep suggesting.

Priety Zinta: Earn Billions of rupees from her IPL Team!

Preity Zinta may have not been so lucky with her team Kings XI Punjab, not faring so well in the ongoing IPL 3 tournament, but still, this dimpled lassy is one of the richest bollywood damsels as of now.

According to the buzz going around, it is being said that her IPL team is going to be up for sale, right after the on going tournament is over the team is jointly owned by Preity, Ness Wadia, and other members who are all in favor of selling off the team.

After the much talked about performance of the Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL season 3, and Shahrukh khan twittering his woes on the micro-blogging site, things have now shifted to the brighter side of life.

For instance even after all the surrounding controversies of IPL-3; reports are that Shahrukh and Karan Johar are going to host the IPL Awards Night to be held on the 23rd of April.

Sources reveal that there will be various categories of awards to be given out. There will be the IPL Jury Awards, Viewers Choice Awards, Statistical Awards, The IPL Captain’s Award, Best Commentator, Most stylish player, then the Winner’s Awards and Awards for best batting and bowling, etc.

Shahrukh Khan: May go nude in a public place and dance in ecstasy

All you gals out there who have a secret desire of watching the epitome of romance nude can keep their fingers crossed for the moment. As the word is that SRK may go nude in a public place and dance in ecstasy but only in case his IPL (Indian Premiere League) cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) lift the trophy.

Though, currently, it looks like an uphill task for the KKR team to even make it to the semis but there’s a likelihood that now more fans will be pinning for KKR. In his own words, SRK said,

“I’ll dance naked to my song ‘Dard-e-disco’ in the DY Patil stadium if my team will make it to the finals and win!” Shahrukh said.

And IPL chairman Lalit Modi grins and quips, “He’s a great owner and highly possessive about his team members. I won’t be surprised if he actually sticks to his word about dancing in the nude if they were to win.”

Now, why did SRK voice out such a promise:

1. Is it to lift the morale of his team?
2. Is it to rope in more female fans to pray for a KKR triumph?
3. Or is it coz he, himself, has a gut feeling that KKR won’t be winning and hence the promise doesn’t count?

DLF IPL 2010: IPL Team's present with a Name of a Bollywood Films

Tonight the 23rd match got over and the recent standings have a lot to say about all the teams. Mumbai Indians  and Royal Challengers Bangalore are arguably the best team till now as Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Daredevils are trying to catch them.

Chennai Super Kings are also in the hunt as Deccan Chargers are also looking pretty good even after losing tonight’s encounter against Royals. But Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab looks like lost cases at this point of time.

So we at Entertainment and Showbiz decided to define each and every team’s present condition with a name of a Bollywood film. It’s an interesting stuff and you can also post your own take on this topic. But till then enjoy our picks. Here is the Part I :

1. Mumbai Indians (Hum Saath Saath Hain): Why??? Coz they are playing like a focused unit and last night when we thought that Dhoni’s tactics would crush them like a pack of cards, Captain and the head of the family Sachin Tendulkar lead the team from the front and was well supported by the young lad Sikhar Dhawan. Even they are getting everything right with their bowling. Zaheer and Malinga are providing the perfect start for them and Harbhajan Singh is doing his job in the middle overs. This could only happen when you live together, drink together and of course fight together so “Hum Saath Saath Hain”.

2. Royal Challengers Bangalore (Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikandar): Their first match against KKR obviously didn’t go the way they wanted it to be. But then they made a comeback like Sikander against Kings XI and so there journey started from their. Their next exploits was seen against the Mumbai Indians and the R.Vinaykumar over sealed the fate of the match. Though we still judge them by their dismal performance of the last season but they are like Sikander and has the potential of conquering the world but sometimes they do get unlucky. But I am very much confident that they will do it this time coz Jo Jeeta Wahi Sikander.

3. Deccan Chargers (Sarfarosh): The team is packed with gutsy players that include the likes of Captain Gilchrist, Symonds and Gibbs, Rohit Sharma, Chaminda Vass and RP Singh. Though their boldness sometimes have backfired but still the holders are a force to reckon with coz “Sarfaroshi ki tammana ab hamare dil mein hain..dekh na hai zor kitna baazu-e-qaatil mein hai”.

4. Chennai Super Kings (Baazigar): Dhoni and Co. is definitely the Baazigar

team of IPL. They might be losing their crucial encounters now but don’t

forget the hard hitting of Dhoni and Haydos and the solid support line of

Raina and Badrinath. The bowlers aren’t performing at their best but they

just need one game to turn it on and Dhoni being an inspirational leader can

turn the table for his team. So the losses doesn’t matter at all coz they will

reach the last 4 its just a matter of time that they start winning their

matches. Aur vaise bhi harke jitney vale ko Baazigar khete hai..rite??

IPL 2010: Top 5 failure Players of IPL after 21 matches!

With the first 21 matches down in IPL-III, we pull down a list of 5 players who failed to rise up to the expectation. Here are the top 5 failures of IPL after 21 matches:

1. Yuvraj Singh: His team has lost 5 matches out of the 4 they played till now and one man who could have made the difference has failed to rise up to the occasion. He is dominating the headlines with his off-the field comments and his new girlfriend, I just hope that he gets it right in the field the next time he comes out to bat and doesn’t throw his wicket like he did in the previous encounters.

2)     Sourav Ganguly: He might have done his bits with his captaincy in the first

two matches against Deccan and Bangalore but the last three matches have

been a complete disaster for him. His test match like batting has come under

severe criticisms and he is also blamed for his team failure. It’s high time for

him to perform or perish.

3. Tilekratne Dilshan: The power performer for the Daredevils last year hasn’t been able to strike chords properly this year. He is still left to score big runs in IPL-III and I hope he does it soon.

4)     Sanath Jayasuriya: His team Mumbai Indians is doing a brilliant job but

sadly he is out of form and also of the playing XI. He has done a decent job

with bowling but in t20 you need someone to score runs up the order and

Shikhar Dhawan is doing a great job at this point of time.

5.   Mohd. Kaif: The new Kings XI recruit hasn’t scored enough for his team

down the order and now time will come when he will be replace by someone else. I am expecting the travesty to happen in the very next match. So god save him.

Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif Bidding Seprately in IPL 2010

The Salman Khan Katrina Kaif on and off relationship status, will perhaps, never stop going around.

It seems, the two are destined to be in the gossip columns, with no fault of theirs. Recently, during the IPL bidding in Chennai, the two had gone to the same venue, albeit separately.

Salman Khan had gone to bid for the Pune team for his own self. He had been very keen and confident on getting the hold of the team. There was even a bash, which had been planned on Saturday, in celebration.

As the results were declared, Sallu bhai was very disappointed, as the winning bid was given to the Sahara Group. It was even reported that, Salman Khan had smelt a rat, saying that something was surely wrong. Someone had played a vicious game in not allowing him to get hold of the team.

On the other hand, Katrina Kaif, who had gone for the bid, was only accompanying her friend. This friend (girl) had gone to bid for the Adani Group from Ahmedabad, for the same team, Pune. The two stars, in spite of being in the same venue, had nothing to do with each others presence there. So, there, there was nothing fishy, you see?

DLF IPL 2010: Tonight Royal Challengers Vs Chennai Super Kings

Bangalore will witness the two best teams of IPL clashing tonight. It will be the home team Royal Challengers Bangalore against Chennai Super Kings.

Bangalore is flying high after first 4 matches of the season and is placed 2nd in table. They have putting up all-round performance in all the matches with the exception of the first match they played against Kolkata Knight Riders.

Jacques Kallis is in top form and has been receiving support from his team-mates Manish Pandey, Robin Uthappa and Virat Kohli. I expect them slay Chennai today in Chinnaswamy Stadium and Captain Anil Kumble has got everything right till now with his bowlers and I am expecting him to do the same today.

S.Vinay Kumar bowled brilliantly in the last match against Mumbai picking up 3 wickets in a single over that actually sealed the fate of the match.

Opening duo of Praveen Kumar and Dale Steyn needs to start well if they want to win this match. Their main problem would be Mr.Mangoose aka Matt Hayden.

Chennai had a pretty sad game past Sunday against Punjab and they lost it in the Super Overs. I hope Suresh Raina and co. will recover well from the past and dish out some quality performance today. They will again be missing MS Dhoni who is ruled out of the tournament for 10 days. Their batting line-up has to perform so that their bowlers get their chance to prevent their adversary.

DLF IPL 2010: Knight Riders takes on Rajasthan Royals today

Shane Warne’s Rajasthan Royals  will face an uphill task when they  take on Kolkata Knight Riders in Ahmedabad today.

Kolkata Knight Riders is set to get a boost with the return of Chris Gayle in the squad. This means either Brad Hodge or Owais Shah will be going out of the team to make way for Gayle. Shane Bond will surely be charged up for today’s match and with an out of shape opponent like Royals, expect the Kiwi pacer to have a blast.

Going into this match KKR is the better team compared to Royals who are not able to get their balance right. I am expecting to see a lot of changes in Royals playing XI and I wish to see Kamran Khan coming back into the team coz he has caused a lot of trouble for KKR in the last edition of this prestigious tournament held at South Africa.

Damien Martyn and Michael Lumb is not at all the best replacement for Smith and Mascarenhas but Warne and Co. will have to get on with it till the rescue forces arrives.

Royals will have a lot of expectation from Yusuf Pathan who has failed to score big in the last two matches and I am expecting him to fire from all corners today.

IPL 2010: Kareena Kapoor and Saif did bid to buy an IPL team

Everyone wants to be involved with the teams of IPL and when you are a Bollywood star you want to own one. The same case happened with Saifeena, I mean Kareena and Saif.

India times caught up with Kareena Kapoor past week as she was busy with the arrival of her sister and actress Karishma Kapoor’s new born baby boy Kiaan.

So when India times asked him about buying an IPL team she revealed that she and Saif did bid to buy an IPL team but the whole thing got cancelled for some reasons which she didn’t revealed. She was quoted by India times stating: “We did go for the bidding and we had all the papers in place but it got cancelled. If we are re-bidding, it will be Saif’s call. I don’t understand cricket but Saif follows it. Movies are my only passion.”

Bollywood stars like Preity Zinta, Shilpa Shetty and Shahrukh Khan are already owners of IPL team and with Saif and Kareena and even Salman, the whole Bollywood will engage in a war of bat and ball. Well, just can’t wait to see what happens in the next auction for IPL-IV.

IPL 2010: Royals captain Shane Warne vows to fightback

With two games now done and dusted, Rajasthan Royals find them at the bottom of the table. Captain Shane was is very much disappointed with his teams run right now but he vows to fight back.

Royals who won the IPL’s first edition, needs to re-think their position now.

In Mumbai they would have won but succumbed in the last two overs after Yusuf Pathan went out and even last night they started well against Delhi in their own den but then lost early wickets and then their run rate slowed down in the middle part of the innings.

These problems needs to be solved out and the team should now contribute individually rather than depending on one man that is Yusuf Pathan.

After last night’s match, Captain Shane Warne admitted: “It was a home game for us and the crowd was fantastic, but unfortunately we just did not play very well in all departments right from ball one. We got off to a pretty good start and we were 45 for two in 4.5 overs, but from there it all went backwards. When you don’t win games questions will be asked of every player in the side. We just played poorly tonight and we have had a horrendous start to the tournament, but we had similar starts before and we have the ability to come back.”

But he is upbeat and looking forward to the rest of the tournament as he said: “It’s still a long tournament with 12 games to go, but we need to bounce back as quick as we can and try and get some sort of momentum going.”

IPL 2010 & KKR: Chennai clashes with in-form KKR

The second match of the day will see Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s Chennai  Super Kings taking on the in-form Kolkata Knight Riders who are now riding high after scoring back to back win in their first two matches in IPL.

KKR is obviously the firm favorites of this match going by their recent performance but it just takes one match to change all and Chennai will be looking forward to do that.

KKR should not get complacent as the Chennai’s batting line-up speaks volume about them. Matt Hayden and Justin Kemp are surely eyeing this match to announce their return to form.

KKR is set to get a big boost as Shane Bond has arrived in Kolkata yesterday and will play in this match but then will KKR change their winning team?? If Bond comes in then Charl Langeveldt have to make way for the Kiwi pacer. It will be really interesting to see when the squad will be announced.

Meanwhile my dark horse for the match is Owais Shah, the England middle-order batsman has proved his credential in the first match and I am sure he will do it again. Angelo Matthews will also play a vital role in this match as he did in the last two encounters. I also hope that the opening pair doesn’t changes from the last match as Hodge and Tiwary has done a superb job and should continue doing this. Captain Sourav Ganguly’s batting form doesn’t seem to be that impressive and I expect to see him proving a point or two to the people sitting in the stands. He has done a brilliant job coming back as a captain and now the batsman in him needs to prove it once again that he still deserves to play alongside the best of international cricket.

Chennai have to perform in their batting dept. more and that’s why the Indian batsman like Suresh Raina and S.Badrinath needs to be cautious while playing in a wicket today that supports the bowlers most of the time. I expect to see Albie Morkel coming up the order as he can really hit the bowlers hard and will be an  exciting prospect for today’s match.

The bowling line-up of Chennai hasn’t performed that well in the last match and we expect to see some changes in that too. Hopefully Manpreet Singh Gony will replace Sudip Tyagi and if possible we can see the likes of Ntini also coming back into action. The best thing would be to bat first coz chasing under lights is getting tougher day by day and so the toss will be crucial.

Bollywood Actress Preity Zinta Brand Ambassador for UN AIDS!

It was on Thursday, the 11th of March, that the UNAIDS, officially appointed actress and IPL franchisee, Preity Zinta as their Brand Ambassador. The actress in turn has promised to make sure that her IPL team, Kings eleven Punjab would leave no stone unturned to spread awareness of HIV/AIDS amongst the spectators and viewers.

There is a schedule that has to be followed by her team. On the day of the first match between Kings Eleven Punjab and Delhi Dare Devils, an HIV positive person would accompany the captain of Preity’s team for the Toss ritual. Besides that, all the players would wear a red ribbon on their jerseys to mark the Awareness of the positive syndrome.

There are plans to make a film too, so as to spread the awareness. The short film would be like a documentary with the captain of the Kings Eleven Punjab Kumar Sangakara, Preity Zinta, and Yuvraj Singh who is the main batsman of Preity’s team.

There is a Biggest live music, song and dance at the "IPL Opening Ceremony 2010". There will be a two day highly charged performance by International singers, musicians and pop stars, along with our desi star Deepika Padukone, shaking a leg to her famous songs.

The show is being projected as being the biggest and the most magnificent shows of the year. A grand opening will see the Briton Reggae Band UB40 singing the famous ‘Can’t Help Falling in Love’. Then, Bjorn will croon on the unforgettable number by ABBA, ‘Dancing Queen’.

Deepika Padukone is expected to come on stage with at least 40 side dancers. They are to perform on the number ‘I Gotta Feeling’, by Black Eyed Peas. After that Deepika is to shake a leg on her hot number ‘Uff Teri Ada’, from her latest flick ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’.After which her number from ‘Love Aaj Kal’,  called Twist, will be performed on.
