Just when we thought we couldn’t possibly be bigger fans of longtime PETA pal Anoushka Shankar, she gives us one more reason to be wild about her. Wearing an outfit designed by famous designers Sandeep Khosla and Abu Jani and peering through iron bars next to the tagline “Exotic Animals Belong in the Wild, Not in Zoos”, Anoushka appears in a brand-new PETA ad. The ad, which was shot by ace photographer Dabboo Ratnani, is Anoushka‘s way of raising awareness about the thousands of animals who lead miserable lives in zoos all across India.
Why is this “sitar hero” growling mad about the conditions in Indian zoos? For years, Indian zoos have been in a dilapidated state. Rife with animal abuse and neglect, statistics show that every year, 10 to 15 per cent of the animals in India’s more than 250 zoos die. When Anoushka Shankar learned this, she readily agreed to do her bit for animals by imprisoning herself.
Zoos promote the myth that they educate the public and help to preserve endangered species, but nothing could be further from the truth. Most zoo enclosures are too small for their occupants, and the labels do not give any valuable information to the public. Animals exhibit abnormal, neurotic, and self-destructive behaviour because of the physical and mental frustrations of extreme confinement, barren enclosures, and the inability to do anything that comes naturally to them, like running, climbing, foraging, picking a partner, or being with others of their own kind.

Apparently papa Kamal knows about his daughter's love interest and has no problem with her relationship despite the fact that she is still trying to make it big in movies and her affair might damage her career prospects. "Kamal likes Siddharth a lot and adores his acting," says the source.

Siddharth has clearly got over his failed romance with Hindi film actress Soha Ali Khan. "Siddharth and Soha had a relationship for around a year and when their affair ended, Siddharth was heartbroken. He took around a year to recover. Soha has moved on and is said to be dating Kunal Khemu. Siddharth has also got Soha out of his system. Prakash postponed Raajneeti Celebration Party due to absence of Katrina kaif

Katrina Kaif News: Katrina Kaif’s plans to fly down to Mumbai for a day to celebrate the Raajneeti success on June 23 from Spain where she is shooting for Zoya Akhtar’s Zindagi Milegi Na Dobara have been dropped.

Apparently inclement weather has made it impossible for her to be let off for even a day. Setting aside her habitual work-comes-first-party-later attitude she even requested the film’s producers and director to accommodate her absence for less than a day.

Says a source close to Katrina, “Since Prakash Jha was very very keen to have her down to Mumbai for the bash, and had even made all the arrangements for her flight, Katrina was not willing to give up the idea of attending the function.

She offered to be back in less than 24 hours. Katrina was willing to fly to Mumbai, attend the Raajneeti bash on Wednesday and fly out quickly the same night to re-join the Dobara team the next morning. But she is not allowed.”

The Raajneeti team has a lot to celebrate about. But Prakash Jha wanted no celebration until his lucky mascot Katrina Kaif was available. Unfortunatley Zoya Akhtar’s crew has been facing rough weather ever since they arrived in Spain. Apparently 6 days of shooting had to be cancelled because of heavy rains. And now they need to make up for lost time quickly since their work permits and visas would expire.

Prakash Jha admits that Katrina would be unable to make it to the Raajneeti celebration party on June 23. “They’ve lost a lot of time because of the rain in Spain. I couldn’t dream of having a Raajneeti bash without Katrina. And I had postponed it until her availability. But now it’s impossible for Katrina to fly down.”

Prakash will now record a video message with Katrina and play it at the party. “So she will be with us in spirit if not in person,” he smirks.

Katrina on the other hand tried to sound diplomatic and not disappointed. “It is a big day. And the success of Raajneeti is very precious to me. But I can’t leave the crew in Spain.”

She admits there are lots of unscheduled breaks. Katrina has got one of her sisters, Melissa, to join her in Spain to give her company at break time. Says Katrina, “London is just two hours, so Melissa could join me. Mumbai is in another hemisphere. Flying down is impossible. Please tell Prakashji, Mera party baqi raha.”

Aishwarya Rai as the "Connector Of The Day" talks about how her career started with her modeling as a hobby to becoming one of the biggest names in the Bollywood film industry.

Rai also talks about her new Bollywood movie that released today, called "Raavan" - written and directed by Mani Ratnam, which also starts her husband, Abhishek Bachchan.

Tell us about this new huge film called "Raavan" ?
It conjures up the very the very vivid image of a demonic king who had 10 heads. And he was this villain. The other protagonist in the film are Vikram (INAUDIBLE), a police officer. So he is the keeper of the law, the so-called hero.

And there is me, Ragini, who is Dev's wife in the narrative.

And through my eyes, the audience goes on to see that through situations and circumstances, the so-called hero and correct human being and the so- called outlaw, you will see shades of black and white and gray in both of them.

So, really, who are we to judge human nature and decide who is right and who is wrong, to come away with it?

So what did you learn from the film?Because I know the director said I want the audience to make their own decisions. What's your...
What I learned?

Yes, what did you learn?
I learned working in two languages at the same time is really tough.

And there's a good and bad there.
Snakes swim. Leaches look like noodles before they suck on your blood. And it isn't easy scaling a waterfall, because there's a lot of moths on the rocks.

Well, a lot of Indian movies are glamorous and this one, I guess, goes against convention. Well, amongst many. They're not all necessarily glamorous. And especially this filmmaker, Mr. Mani Ratnam, is known to make a lot of cinema which well, he struck this fine balance where it will be an entertainer, it will be the so-called commercial format of an Indian film, and, at the same time, he brings an immense sense of realism to his narrative.

I've got some questions now from viewers.

"Bollywood movies don't seem to do well in foreign markets, whereas Hollywood movies do really well in India."

Do you agree with him? You're in London so I know you're going to disagree with him.
No, no, no, no, no.

Because of
No, it's not because of this. I think people need to be a lot more of their homework before these statements are made. It isn't true that Indian movies don't do well outside of India. One in six is an Indian in the world population, as we put it and put it mildly.

In terms of English movies doing well in India, there are many that do well and there are many that don't necessarily do great business at all.

And I can say that for a fact because when I have had worked and, OK, yes, very few English movies. But from their perspective, I've heard first person that India is a market which is very unpredictable for them for English movies. It could do great business or it could be just a regular center. So it is very unpredictable.

"If you could choose one Hollywood actor or actress to work with in your next film, who would it be and why?"
A tough one, simply because I have never been good with these favorite questions, as in favorite film, favorite director, favorite actor.

So it does feel good in terms of the body of work and the people I've been working with. But, you know, this is ocean. Look at the world's population. There are so many women out there I still have left to assay. So it's as long as I have good work coming my way and I enjoy doing what I'm doing, I'm going to be here still, you know, doing what I do.

You are now it's a real Bollywood dynasty now, isn't it? What's it like being part of that?
You know, this wasn't an exercise in a statement when we got married, it was just that Abhishek and me, we loved each other. We got the blessings of our families and which is great. And here we are married today.

Yes, we do recognize and if we didn't, we're reminded on a daily basis that, yes, this is a family of very established actors and personalities on the public platform. So, yes, my father-in-law, my mother-in-law, Abhishek and me all belong to this world. We do what we do and we do have an incredible amount of love and support from a very huge and vast audience out there. And thank you each moment.

But having said that, really, this wasn't a statement making alliance.

It was just two people getting married and very happy to be family today.

That shoot has been shifted to Mumbai. As for Celina, her shooting got over by Saturday, so she returned."

Shahrukh Khan Lost his Weight during the making of Ra One, what the reason?

Shahrukh Khan News: The shooting of Ra.One is on at full swing and one person who is most affected by it is producer-actor Shahrukh Khan.

According to reports, the actor has lost weight since the shooting began and is looking quite thin now.

Actually the movie requires Shahrukh to wear prosthetic make-up for at least 8-10 hours, and the star can’t even take a break in between.

Kareena Kapoor much missing her sister Karisma's birthday

But it seems unlikely that the busy actress would be able to join her elder sister on June 25 this year.

Kareena will be busy shooting for Saif Ali Khan's film "Agent Vinod" in Morocco. And she rules out the possibility of Karisma flying down to Morocco.

"How can my sister fly down to Morocco? No, she'll be in Mumbai with her baby.

She has a baby boy who's not even four months old. She can't leave the city," said Kareena.

The actress is, however, pragmatic about missing Karisma's birthday.

"How can I be in Mumbai? I'll be shooting in Tangiers in Morocco on my sister's birthday. Work always comes first in our family. So there would be no birthday plans with my sister this year."

The over-worked sister says she won't even have time to buy anything for Karisma this year. "There's no time to breathe. Forget buying anything. I don't know whether I'm coming or going," sighed Kareena.

In recent years, Kareena has quite often gone to join Karisma in Delhi when the elder sister was staying in the capital with her husband.

But this time Kareena is trying to focus on Saif's project. "I love the title 'Agent Vinod'. It's the coolest. We've already started shooting for it. We leave for Tangiers in Morocco on June 22 for 20 days."

But apparently Saif seems more concerned about missing Karisma's birthday.

"Saif gets along like a house on fire with Karisma and her husband Sanjay. The two guys often share a lot of outdoor fun activities together. Saif doesn't want that he and Kareena should miss her sister's birthday this year," said a source close to the actor.
